I have seen this a few times in MLL games, and have heard conflicting reports as to whether or not it is legal for HS, so I will leave it to laxref to set me straight. On a faceoff, is it legal to have two wing middies on one side of the field? For example, (here goes my attempt at official sounding lingo) could team A have both wing middies to the left of Team A's faceoff man, so that if they won the faceoff and swept it to the left, they would have a higher chance of gaining possesion?

i'm not a ref, or a wing middie, but i do faceoffs, and i do not believe that that is legal.
i am pretty sure it's illegal.
if it's not though, i'm gonna suggest that to my wing middies, 'cause i almost always sweep to the left (unless i just go back to myself)

Same here, and it would give me a major advantage since I almost always win. That way, I could have a wing on both sides of the mid line, so either way, whether I pop it forward or sweep it back, I would have the advantage.

The positions of the other players on the field, before the start of a faceoff, shall be as follows:
a. When a team has all of its players on the field, it shall confine its goalkeeper and three other players inside the defensive-area line, three
players inside the attack area line and one player in each of the wing areas.
There you go.

Now, to go along with that, could a wing middie stand just above the restraining line, but behind the wing line?(draw and imaginary line down to the restraining line)

No, you cant. The common interpretation is that you are not behind the line if you don't have to cross the line to run straight path to the center X or square.
In hs and ncaa college play, one middie from each team must be in the wing area (when all even). In MLL play, it is possible to have 4 men in one wing area and none in the other. i.e. teams are allowed to put two of their players on the same wing area.

So you have 1 middie behind each wing line. Does it matter which side of the midfield line they are on? Can both guys (from the same team) be on the same side of the midfield line?

Yes, in other words, both of Team A's wing middies could be at the end of the wing restraining lines in their offensive or defensive ends. On each side of the field you have 20 yards to choose from for where you want to start, 10 yds on your defensive end and 10 yds on your offensive half - your choice.
