A # To Honor

any goalies in here play with a number# to honor a person? If so what number and what happened to them?

I play with the jersey #15 in honor of a good athlete that died in a car crash. not his fault, it was more of a freak crash. also i wear a small #43 on my throat guard in honor of my Assistant Coach's dad that died of cancer.

One of our attackman died in a snowmobile accident last year, and this season every player in our district (modified through varsity) put a sticker on the back of their helmets with a number 15 and his name underneath. The coaches also gave away a scholarship in his name.

I play with #11 to honor a guy I played with in HS who was recently killed in Afghanistan

i use 25 in honor of the goalie who wore before me, he wasnt very good, and the number scares the coaches when they see it in a goal again

its kida ben a tradition, but the starting goalie wears #1. I was the last yr to wear it(5 goalies wore it). Now (my old team) a freshman wears it.

It's not really in 'honor' or anything.IDK, I guess it is. When my bro played, he was number 44 for every sport, and he was the one that got me into lax and taught me everything, so I wear number 44 because he asked me to keep the number alive :-)

I wear #45 for my dad who recently died of cancer, I have two pieces of tape on my throat guard too. EP 45 for my dad, his initials and the number and LA 12 for Luis Acapora (sp?), he was a goalie who died after getting hit if a shot in the chest, now the reason why defibrillators have to be present at all sporting events.
