I'd be interested to hear different ideas on deadball clears, both from the endline and sidelines.
What formations do you use and how are the players set up?
Thanks.

My team uses a 42 clear. 3 middies and 1 defender along the mid line/ restraining line area and then 2 defenders on each side of the box on GLE.

My team set up 2 poles deep, a mid in front of the cage, on the goalie's weak side for an easy pass, a pole by the box for a quick switch w/ a mid, and a shorty on the non-box side and a mid in the center. If the goalie is pressured, he drops the ball off to his middie in front of the goal (it may seem a little risky at first, but you make sure that that mid has the best stick on the team), or he throws an outlet to whoever is open. This setup is good for pusing the 2 on 1 up a side, and getting it to the shorty @ midfield on either the box or far side. The shorty in the middle is free to move, but the one on the non-ball side has to stay back and sub for a d-man. That's our usual settled clear from the endline.
From the sideline, we would run a 4-3. 4 men on the GLE and 3 floating between the restraining line and the midfield. On GLE it's: D(with ball) G M D
It's basically a flat version of our endline clear.
Occasionally, we would have one of our better attack switch with a mid at mid-field, that sometimes catches the D off guard, especially if they're playing loose.
If you want, PM me and I can try to draw up some diagrams for you.

Yea thats a great play. It catches the opposition off guard. I recommend it for all teams.

what we do to catch teams off guard is we have a sub wait in the box and right when the clear starts we have a middie casually walk off.
the sub waits a second and then sprints out into the clear. he's usually wide open and the goalie hits him with a pass and we have a fast break.

Great ideas. Thanks. I'm amazed at how easily and quickly the teams at the world championships move the ball on their clears. Of course they should be great at it but it still impresses me how open the upfield players get. My teams problem is that in our league(U-15) most goalies aren't as good with the ball and the rides usually let the goalie walk it up and then trap. I'd love to get the ball out of our goalies stick and into the other players sticks since he's not a good passer. Keep the ideas coming.

well, you could do what my team does (posted above) except instead of the goalie passing it to the guy streaking across the field, he could pass it to a d-pole and he could pass it up the field.

we throw the ball down the field in the general direction of a one of our players and hope it gets there
