Man I'm already more built than that guy after 1.5 yrs of lifting consistantly. His workout doesnt even involve weights. Aerobically its alright strength wise it is garbage.

Thank you franks for being a complete waste of life. This obviously isn't a hardcore strength workout.

Thank franks for being a complete waste of life.
I laugh my *** off when people like you try to throw insults my way. People that try to have a large e-penis but in real life are worthless. You are truly a complete waste of life.
People using his b.s. routine will be more aerobically conditioned but will probably never put on an ounce of muscle.

franks, that was completely unecessary. And, quite frankly, I think it is you who are trying to have a big e-penis. :loser: So stop being such a jackass and don't say anything at all.
Thank you very much Canadian_Lax, they have great videos, and I actually started my regimen, so I am going to start on Sunday, after camp. I am going to try it for a couple of weeks, and see the benefits of that, versus, just lifting. Great find.

By simply stating that I'm more built than this guy after a year and a half of working my *** of in the gym. Maybe I should throw more names out of people twice that guys size that come on this board, Diesel, BigDman, the wister. We are some of the few people that lift hard and consistantly all year long and eat to build ourselves up. So we have every right to say that we are big and strong.

Can't we all just get along, and help one another out instead of putting eachother down??

Well now that everybody's done with the insults, back to the topic of discussion. Did anybody register at the site. I was wondering if you got any benefits from doing it. Do they make you a personal training regimen or something?

i registered. You can set a regimin for yourself and its in 3 week cycles and each time it gets more difficult. You can track all your workouts and all its pretty good and its free, so why not.

It gives you a personal regmen!?!? Thats awesome, I'm signing up! How old would you have to be to do these regimens and not get hurt (there was this notice on the website saying the regimen was made by pro's)?
Canadian Lax - thanks for posting that link, b/c I thought it was really good too. There are A LOT (~70) of videos on there, and I find the Canadian accents to be engaging. :)
I would relabel the sections though. The SPEED section mostly has to do w/ quickness, agility, footwork, and first-step ability as opposed to all-out track type or 40y dash type speed. I would further subdivide that section into high intensity plyo/explosiveness and put a lot of the jumping drills under there like the Russian, Thrust (aka burpee), back scratcher, and a few others.
The STRENGTH section isn't about maximal or absolute strength and muscle isolation exercises. It's about funtional game strength. All the drills in there engage core strength &/or stabilization while performing other movements at the same time. These are the type of full-body, 3-dimensional, multi-planar exercises Cburylax likes to talk about.
The CONDITIONING section is mostly about intervals and speed endurance. Game speed is a better term. It's about carrying your speed throughout the game while sprinkling in little intermittent bursts of power (e.g. a hard shot or crushing body check).
A lot of the exercises I'd reclassify to different sections or apply to more than one section. The squats & lunge movements under Warm-Up I'd put under Strength &/or Conditioning. 'Body Circuit' under Conditioning I'd put under Strength. All the ladder drills under Conditioning, I'd relist w/ the other agility drills under Speed. The 'Running Drills' under Cool Down, I'd move to Warm-Up.

If you're an aspiring fitness or bodybuilding magazine model, then good for you. If you're serious about improving your game, then you're missing out.
That little bald guy in the red shirt is a 3X Olympian and Olympic gold medalist. Some of those guys performing the demos (the ones who don't talk in the vids) play in the NHL. But I'm sure they'd all hang their heads in shame around you, b/c you're so much more buff than they are. http://www.laxpower.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif
Also, Diesel is exceedingly well-informed about training for his age. I doubt he overlooks the value of those exercises like you do.

the point of these workouts aren't to get "bigger."
they are designed to help people get in better shape for lacrosse. it isn't meant for gaining a lot of muscle mass, it's to gain speed and endurance, etc. i'm sure that you will gain some more muscle definition by doing these exercises and lifts, but they're not designed just to gain muscle.

I thought the site was very informative and the videos are a huge help. I only browsed through the exercises but from what I saw everyone could benefit from it. Even though it was designed as a dry-land training for hockey, the concepts are the most important part. RYU said it all.
If you want a bit more, Peter Twist is really good hockey training specialist. His series of DVDs offer way more than the Nike site.

If we were on a training forum, we could really dig into these guys about postural deviations like the excessive pronation with the dude running backwards (but seriously, what can you really expect from hockey players right?), and even proper running form (yikes, I think they forgot!)
Good stuff.....A+
