Might be the stick. Make sure you ar ethrowing over hand or a little 3/4. Try playing with the shooters to get rid of the whip. Also, follow through on your throws.

If you can, take some pictures for us and we'll be able to see what you need to tweak.

IDK much bout the stick, but I know that it depends on where the pocket is kinda.... IDK, correct me if I'm wrong. But once you have a decent stick....

I was taught to put my bottom hand, all the way at the bottom, top hand not that much farther away, and extend it all the way back over the shoulder of my top hand, make your top arm in an L shape-extended, keeping it parallel w/ the ground, and kinda pulling w/ ur bottom hand and releasing. A thing that I taught the goalie I trained was to followthrough all way so that ur bottom hand hit ur upperhands elbow, and it mainly works.

You dont want to through side arm, make sure you keep your hands high around your ear.

Try choking up on the stick like 2" with your bottom hand when you throw

i would def not learn to throw side arm it will only give you troulbe in teh future if you ever go to camps or anything. also thrown over the top is much more reliable and consistent than throwing side arm. i have slowly transformed my throwing to a more 3/4 than over the top but that just from laziness after 3 years and you should learn the throw over the top. if you ball is just goin straight down then yes i would try some shooting strings but if that doesnt work after about 3 of them then i would restring you stick. thats teh reason i have to restring mine so often is because i have to have it throwing perfect. i strung mine this year during the season i think 8 times or so. how you throw is all personal prefernce. some goalie have a ton of whip and some have none i preferalbe like alot and i like it to just tip the plastic as its coming out so i can feel it.

good luck and welcome to club

i wanna break my stick in...but the mesh is hard. so i can really pound it in. i hav to loosen the net up. but i cant do it without making my stick whippy.
