what is the rule for a home made wood shaft in ontario minor box lacrosse is it allowed if it is the right measurements?

I see no reason why it wouldnt be, you wouldnt be able to tell the difference unless the manufactured shaft has a logo branded on it.

I Highly doubt why not. My friends shaft (Bantam-Alberta Box) was 2" short, but no ref called it, nor did they call for any stick mesurements on anyone.

i just wondered because the head of my league said it was illeagle to use anywhere in canada because its not certified. But if you look on any other shaft there is no sign of certification either so i just wanted to be sure before provincals

Just try to make it look official. Burn some bogus name into it then finish it real nice.

No need to certify a shaft. I've seen plenty of wood and metal handles that don't even have a brand label on them. They're all fine.

The only thing the rulebook says is that if the ref deems a stick unsafe, it's out of the game (head can be returned if it's the shaft that's unsafe). It also specifically mentions that modified hockey shafts are not allowed.
