[Announcement] NEW Chatroom

Guys, we have created an IRC base chatroom, right now we have no web applet to get into the server, which means you will have to use mIRC, we will work on getting this sucker running.


I have created a tutorial so that you can login to the room, it may take you 10 minutes to set it up but it is definitely worth it.

It'd be great if you all could "idle" in the chatroom. This means you just leave IRC on and always logged into the chatroom. This is how we show how popular TLF is - so REPRESENT!

You may read the next post to enter the chat via web browser, it is much simpler and does not require you to install any programs but you must have java!

Update

We now have a good way to get online without downloading mIRC.

Once you join the website, type the following in the message bar
/nick what_you_want_your_nickname_to_be
Hit Enter

If it doesn't say "JavaUserX is now known as ______" then you must redo this step as the name you used is already taken.

Then type
/join #lacrosseforums
Hit Enter

For now, yes. But it is TWO lines. I don't see it as being too troublesome.

If you do the mIRC then you will spend ~5-10 minutes and you won't have to do any advanced setup. You will also be authorized so you won't have to worry about people smurfing.

Hopefully, in the future we can have our own chat that leads right to the chatroom, we'll see though.

You get to the main chat, you do your name like this /nick pINK fLOYD or whatever you want it to be then it says that little message confirming your name OR you make an account then go to the main chat. Once there, you type in /join #lacrosseforums That should take you to the chat.

What's a "ppl"?

But, no dude, it's not hard to use mIRC, it runs so much smoother than AIM chatrooms do, and much less complicated. And you probably don't know this, but here, the mIRC chats work just fine, usualy a decent amount of people for a fun chat. AIM gets way too sloppy, and I forget who people are. See, I know this stuff, because I've actualy been in TLF chats.

And the only thing Meebo is good for is getting on AIM in school, or when it's not downloaded...all it is is an online crappier version of AIM, Yahoo, MSN, etc..

Yeah, it doesn't really work all that well even in the Summer. Usually the most people on at a time is like 7 people, with an average of like 3. Its ok, not that great

I wouldn't realy worry about, because chances are, no one will be in, if you want to chat with people get a bunch of TLF SNs and IM them, or invite them all to a chat, thats probably the only way you'll get any conversation going.

Hmmmm, I've been having the same problem for a while now, even before this chatroom.

This is what happens when I try to join:

Sounds like me, except i couldnt never get in and resorted to making random aim chatrooms. Those werent horrible, we got a solid amount of people in there like 6 at a time but only at like 1Am
