Darn good question. Maybe you can just make a highlight tape and then cut out pieces and make a tape of highlights that shows pure fundamental skills and such.

Coaches don't want to see a highlight reel. They want to see a whole game to see how you play and when you make mistakes, how you recover from them.

yeah, i sent a whole game. most of them want to see game footage, because they can see everything they need to see.

coaches throw away highlight films..everyone looks good if u edit clips together of them playing their best..
from what i understand, coaches want an entire game film of u playing a good team, not a video of ur team blowing out some team and u getting 5 goals

so basically i should tape my fall ball and pick the most challenging game to send and if i can get my hands on a schedule of my high school team to send to the coaches?

When I was at the Loyola camp the head coach gave us a talk about recruiting. She said nearly the exact same things that have already been mentioned.
She said when you send in a tape, coaches want to see you in all situations. They want to see what you do off ball, they want to see what you do when you have the ball, but another important thing they want to see is you making a mistake. They want to see you make a mistake and then see how you react and how you recover from that mistake. Its guaranteed that coaches want to see a player who works hard to fix their faults instead of a player who tries to blame them on someone else. Another thing coaches look at is conduct. Were you respectful to your refs, coaches, and even opponents?
So when you send in a tape make sure you're giving the coaches a well-rounded view. Doing so allows them to get a better feel for the type of player you are.
