View Full Version : Having trouble getting into shape, need help!!!

ok well i searched this topic a lot for a while and i ve tried what others have said to do but it doesnt work out for me. i am really out of shape and well i am having trouble getting motivated to run and workout cause of how fat i am, i get really frustrated and always quit, 2 months ago i was on a great workout program and lost 12 lbs, but when i tried running with friends and couldnt do it so i got frustrated and quit, now that summers here im lazy and cant get motivated. what i am asking is do you guys have any tips on getting me motivated to work out? the help is much appreciated. thanks

Thats a weak excuse, lack of motivation??? C'mon man yoy ogtta do better than that. Just think what you could be like bro thats what fuels me. Being better than I was last week.

you sound like my brother ... do you still eat junk food ? do you drink ALOT of water ?
just start out doing short runs and then graduallly you should be able to go for longer runs ...you cant expect to run as long as your friends can if there in better shape then you ... good luck

Think about how badly you want to get in shape as motivation. Set realistic goals for yourself. Don't compare yourself to your friends or others while running and whatnot.

go look in the mirror at how fat you are, and then go run. Eat a god diet too.

i dont eat junk food, i rarely drink soda. i drink mostly water. the only thing i dont do is enough exercising, also my family has a medical problem with weight gain, im the only one in my family that hasnt been fat for most of my life like my parents and older brother. my older bro cant lose weight its almost impossible.

thyeroid( sp?) ...thats what my mom has ... she has to take pills ... my brother has a REALLY slooooooooooooooooooooow metabolism
if you have trouble running or its boring or w.e ... just get your friends to play basketball ...hockey , football any pick up games ...

I always use the Michael Jordan Motivation for Training.... everytime im training and i want to quit... or i wake up and dont want to train... i think of that varsity roster being called off by coach and my name not being on it... that motivates me like a MOFO!!!

Think about something that you want to get, that will be easier to achieve if your in better shape. Or if some girl or something dumped you, just use that to push you to show her that she made a mistake or something along those lines. Just think of motivation.

think about a time you got laid out by a huge guy. Just imagine his face and him standing over you while you try to get up. That always helps me.

Watch videos and look at pics of people like mike powell and kyle harrison and just strive to be like them. It's a major motivation to see what your final outcome can be if you just put in a little effort.

i have had my thyroid checked out and i was on medication but now i guess its fine, and ya my matabolism is alittle slow.
if you have trouble running or its boring or w.e ... just get your friends to play basketball ...hockey , football any pick up games ...
i would but all my friends in near me are really lazy, and i dont hang out with many people from my school.
and i guess my main problem is just being lazy which i got used to since its summer, which you guys cant help me with.

well i have the same problem and am always hungrey i lost weight and got in shape pretty quick try this
1.eat 6 tiny meals(like 1/8 of what u usually eat this casues u to think u eat alot and dont
2.yes running is the best but i found out jump rope ..now i know its jump rope but it does work and gets ur leg great
3.now for motivation its all in ur head whenu wake up just think well if i dont go run or dont go eat ealthy im goin to be worse thani started with ..also i dont have a girl friend so i think i need some hot bity and being fat and flabby does not help

If you can't get motivation, you are a lost cause. Once you exercise you'll want to. Laziness is an excuse, and excuses are weak.
