ohkay, well, long story short, i need to run more.

i just got back in from a quick 4 block run, and i came back and i am tired.. and i feel stupid.. and well i guess what im asking is, does running on a regular basis help your endurance and stamina?

if it does, how and why? and if not, why doesnt it?

thanks

Yes it does, you can gain both more endurance and stamina for the end of a game. I ran 4 years of track in high school and i was in the best shape of my life. if you very your training then it will REALLY help you. do long distance one day(say 4-6 miles) and the next day do a shorter distance but do it at a faster pace, a couple of miles at the most but as you run pick land marks and sprint between them. Also running Hills will help your endurance for the end of a game. like my track coach always said when you are bringing it home at the end of the race you'll be thnking those hills!

unless your whole team sucks other than you, you won't be running that much. if your always moving while your on the field and sprinting (this is assuming your a middie) up and down the field, you shouldn't last more then 3-4 min at a time

This is what I did last summer for a 2 mile run. Sprint until you cant go anymore, then walk until you catch your breath. The rest times will slowly decrease until you can pretty much sprint whatever distance you have set for yourself
