View Full Version : Mega Whey, and 100% Whey??

I was wondering if instead of buying mega whey from GNC to get 40 grams of protein, couldn't you just double the amount of powder for 100% whey and it would do the same thing as mega whey. would this be bad, is there something better about mega whey, or will just mixing more powder of 100% whey also give you 40 grams of good protein??

cheap is best, you can do double scoops it really doesn't matter. 40 grams per scoop it sounds like a lot. I buy my stuff in bulk, it's easier.

What are you talking about, never ever again post about protein. To orgional poster there are many other threads on pretty much the same topic and it always turns into if you don't care go cheapest, if you need that sweet flavor and those pretty graphics on the container buy something else.

yea but u have to use the right dose for your body tipe if u use to much n u r small kid u will hurt your self there is to much proteen in your body n it can cause you to pass out i know someone that it happned to u have to be carefull n use the stuff that is best for u. just ask the people at the store in gnc or wherever u go if this is the right stuff for what results u want

Protein is protein. Their aren't many differences between the various types, ie. digestion time. Whey protein for example is considered a fast protein and causes a rapid increase in amino acid levels. Casein on the other hand is considered a slow protein. You can get gastro-intestinal disorders, but you would have to be taking 2+ grams of protein per bodyweight pound. So I really doubt some kid passed out because of too much protein.

You were mis informed, it's ok it happens a lot. But the case is a healthy person can more than withstand 2 grams of protein for pound of body weight, or even more, but there are studies that show more wouldn't help. I have a hard time getting in 2 grams per pound though. Tell me something "this kid that passed out" can he eat chicken? The "dose" you talk about is only because supplementing past a certain point is no longer beneficial not because it becomes harmful.

compare what else in in the two types of proteins. (amount of fat/carbs, etc.) also check the amount of scoops per serving, becaues alot of times the larger amount of protein means more scoops. PM if you have any more questions. also if you increase your protein make sure you increase your water intake as that helps in digestion.

ur thinking of creitein not protein...
but basically buy which one is cheapest i personally use the mega whey because it comes in a bigger container, so I don't have to buy it as often

Hey yeah go for which ever is cheaper like Diesel says, i personally love 100% Whey because of all of the ammino acids in it but i have never tried mega whey.

i like mega whey because it includes bcaa's and l-glutamine
i went through two tubs and saw some results so i recommend it
