At the world games today, warrior had a booth set up (no surprise) and as usuall, everyone was around it. They were only promoting new things, and werent selling anything. They gave away lots of freebies (stickers, equipment book etc.) but here is why everyone liekd them. They gave away free sweat bands for people answering the most random questions ever. I got one by total guessing (what was the guy who was giving away the stuff's number). There was one event where everyone had to scream WARRIOR as loud as possible, until they picked the 2 loudest kids, who had a "yell off" screaming warrior at each other. Free t-shirt, key holder, and ministick to the winner. There was one event called a push up competition, and whoever did the most got free cleats. Now here is the catch. All the stupid kids who didnt want to leave to watch Canda vs USA, got free warrior burn cleats. Yes. FREE FREAKIN $120 CLEATS FOR STAYING AT THEIR BOOTH. I go down to take a bathroom break, and the guys at the table are askin everyone their size in cleats, and are giving them away for nothing but a "represent us well while you wear them" type thing. those kids were damn lucky imho. I know no other company that gives away more stuff than warrior, or does that much to promote themselves. That is why everyone likes them.

This is an excellent marketing ploy. The only vendor I have seen all year was a Gait vendor at a UVa game. They were there only one time though which makes for a poor showing. For a company to push ahead of Warrior they will need to put in similiar appearances and footwork.

Well, did you get any?
And it is the best marketing idea I have ever heard... free cleats for standing around a tent... sweet.

This kind of reminds me of seeing thousands upon thousands of Mikey Powell/Brine wristbands in Philly, except those wristbands didn't cost $120.

They were doing the same thing at the MLL finals last year. My neighbor won a new head and a pair of gloves. Of course he didn't see any of the 3 games.

I won a free pair of burns!!! The dude asked who knew the Six Nations of the Iroquios Confederacy....I only knew like 4 of them and made up the others...the guy had no idea so he gave them to me. Actually they didnt have my size but he gave me his business card and told me to email him my size and address. My brother also got a free ministick for knowing Andy Turner's number...(26). And i got a t-shirt for naming the 5 attackmen on USA. My brother got a lanyard for something as well.
The best part was that my dad was doing the gamesheet for the goldmedal game so my brother and I were right down on the field and team canada's back-up goalie gave him his stick....its a BRAND new nemesis on a kryptolite with 12 diamond.
Pretty good week in my opinion

I saw the warrior booth and the yelling contests and it made me kind of sick actually. The guy working there was some young punk who made kids yell "Warrior" for free garbage. All I could think about was, "Dance little monkeys, dance and I will throw you a banana."
I don't have a problem with asking trivia questions but telling kids to yell "Warrior"? It was pretty sad.

i know. that really pissed me off. If he got them to yell "lax" on the other hand that would be fine. But that was one thing i didnt like.
