im gonna have to say the brine ventilator pro (smaller one with beads) i removed the big plastic piece and the shoulder caps (why would a goalie need any more arm coverage outside of clavicle protection) and it still more protective than any cp ive used (revo air 5000, stx e flex, galdiator cp) there is lexan in every section that faces directly front all the way up to the point of the clavicle and behind that is 1.5-2.5 inches of beads, you dont feel a thing, and because of how it is sectioned, it is far more flexible tha anything i have used the only down side is it gets heavy in the rain

Yeah, I totally didn't remember what it was called, but the Brine cp with the beads and the silver outer lining is far and away . The best protection, and one of the lightest (yet again, I haven't worn any of the new ones). I too took off the shoulder pads and the plastic chest piece. I remember when I got one from the equipment room and thought it was a joke, staying with the one I used in high school. I finally switched, and now I only use it. Do they still make this one or not? Sucks if they don't. They should.

I think they do, Its the Brine Ventilator CP. Its good and all, I use it, but definatly not the most protective. Maybe best (but that is definatly debatable), but not most protective. I think the most protective is the MLL 6.0, but its so bulky that you cant move much.

im thinking the most protective against Commotio Cordis, there in the most protective since it prevents the most serious injury that a player can endure, the huge tank warrior one actually faired poorly in recent tests at cornell and harvard after the death of george biordi (not sure about the speeling) in 04, i beleive they showed these tests in inside lacrosse or lacrosse magazine, the brine ventilator faired the best and that was when i bought it for 40 dollars after seeing the results.

so in short big warrior P.O.S. is a waste of space, matter, and money is bulky, ugly and makes other goalies and players laugh at the wearer
brine ventilator makes the goalie wearing look like he has a set of b/c cups under his jersey but is the most protective against the most dangerous injury possible

I've found the Glad CP to provide excellent protection from pretty hard shots. It's got the hard plastic piece over foam in every section, and comes with an extra insert to cover your sternum (again with hard plastic over foam). It also comes with shoulder caps and a belly pad, which I have removed for mobility, and for lack of real need.

I would like to try the Brine Ventilator Pro though after reading the article on Commotio Cordis in the Journal of Pediatrics which showed that the Ventilator had the lowest comparative incidence of CC (although none of the lacrosse CP's they tested were deemed to prevent it altogether). They did not test any of the latest models, however, like the Glad CP or newer Warrior CP's.

Was that test done with or without the black sternum piece on the Ventialator?

all chest protectors in the study had all pieces attached, all bicep, sternum, and stomach, i think the stx aegis or exo came in runner up in the test

Except the strange thing is that they described each CP's construction, and they listed the Ventilator only as beads, not as beads covered by a plastic piece. They also mentioned that they struck the Ventilator in the side, not directly on the chest piece, IIRC, which I guess means they only shot it at the bead section. If you think about it, that plastic piece on top of the foam might even increase the protection from CC over and above the beads.

i didnt remember that part, so that scews my opinion quite a bit, thanks for the info

and i think only the newer ones (silver and black not silver and green) have the plastic over the beads too so again new info, i still think its the most protective but as pbs says the more you know

I have the Warrior 6.0 Players club. It's expensive but extremley flexible and protective. I reallu suggest it.

i use the warrior chest protector not one of the fancy ones it provide good protection and allows maximum manuverbility

i use an stx e-flex, probably one of the worst cp in terms of protection, but its really light and flexible. but i would have to say that any of the warrior ones are proably the best in terms of protection. the 6.0 feels like it could stop a bomb

I bought the STX chopper, i think it works very well. I dont know about anyone else but the split design works for me. I didnt check anything else but the price and i found it for cheap. I suggest against that though... lol.
