Hi im going into 10th grade and have been interested in lax my entire life. I have been wall balling for the past 3 months and i have gotten good at it with both hands. I signed up for a rec league in the fall and i wanted to play attack. how should i prepare for this fall? what skills are demanded of attackers? should i take lacrosse lessons? how long did u practice before jioning a league?

If you're playing attack, you should practice shooting (makes sense) and if you can get someone to give you an idea of where to position yourself in different situations. Also, that's great about the wallball. Keep it up.

If you live close to friends that play ask them to help you out, it would be even better if they were a defensemen then you could work with dodges and how to protect your stick other than that work with both hands like you are already doing and know the game

I would suggest that you open your career as a middie if the team you get on has kids who already have a season or more under their belt.

all i have to say is that it is good your looking into this before joining. i remember my first league. i came to the first practice not knowing how to cradle, i didnt know the rules, i basically knew absolutly nothing about thegame.
if you know how to pass catch and cradle you will be just fine. and youl will be suprised how much you will learn in your first league. good luck

sounds a bit like me but a while ago. im in 9th grade now. the best you can do during this time is to play some indoor box. since box is a little more intense with the beatings, it should get you into shape and its pretty fun just to go 5 on 1 agianst the one man with the ball.
