Today was my first Field Lacrosse game. Mainly being a box man, it was interesting, but still fun. It isn't too serious a team, but we are trying to get to Nationals. Field not being too big in Canada, it's somehwat easy. The team we have to beat 2 out of 3 times (We lost one...) have matching CPX's. When I first saw them, I felt it was very intimidating. Has anyone ever felt this? I am suspecting more teams down south have matching equipment, but for those who don't, do you get intimidated?

P.S. The helmets rocked...

It is sometimes intimidating for teams to have matching pads, helmates, but you get over it once the game starts.

Sometimes, I do, but only if I can see that the team is talented. One time we played a team with matching helmets, arm guards, and gloves and we kicked them around the entire game. The matching stuff made me respect them less, because here were kids with team macdaddies and they didn't have that much talent, etc. etc.

i think it certainly adds to the intimidation, if they have the skills to back it. its almost like if the team is good, it makes them look even better having matching equipment

You're on my team... lol.

Damn, the Razor backs had sexy CPX's. I was the guy who didn't know what the hell was happening, with the dyed revo pro. I played Pole, and Mid.

I wasn't intimadated. I was laughing, since they were not very good and we will win, next time. Alas, I won't be there :(

i hate NESLL kids they think they all that and when there team losses they blame it all on there teammates, but whenn i played against AAU it was a little intimidating looking at all those matching CPXs in the youth game compared to my Stryke Z :nahya:

My high school team played St. Michael's Boys College (you know, the St. Michael's Majors of the OHL). They had a bunch of players missing and so did we so we figured we'd still get the crap kicked out of us (their team consists of Jr. A players). Anyways they showed up with matching everything in the pouring rain and mud. Well all their gear got ruined so my team played better and better.

They still ended up beating us but it was cool seeing our team improving as their jerseys got dirtier.

They had U16 and U19 provincials on the same weekend and around here the scorpians are the top team. It was a really rainy weekend and being that i am only 14 i didnt play that much. As i was standing on the sideline i was them come out from their bus custom gloves, helmnets socks shoes...everything. at everyone thought it was the U16 team and we where like AHHH, but it was a little intimidating

My team just laughs and call the all matching teams betty crocker teams just to get comfertable before the game(that doesnt mean that i dont like matching gear just a way to put it past us). The only things that intimidates me is the big guys on the feild and skilled fast people.

Im going into 9th grade, and many kids we play against are beginners/intermediate players. If the team that were playing against all have like really nice equipment and sticks, and im just gonna assume that theyre all spoiled and all suck and care about the equipment more than learning to be a better lacrosse player. So I just do the best I can and hope we win.

Yeah... this team we played from washington had matchin CPX's with matchin Mac's... it was pretty intimidation considering our team is like this...

Half have Stryke's, three of us have CPX's, a quarter have CLH2's and the rest have Riddell....
Two of us have Macs, most have hypno's, some have STX exo gloves, and all of us wear different shorts....
and i have blue elbow pads when our colors are red and white....

my team has had kids who got their team helmet 4 years ago so they have cpro's. One or two kids have cpro titaniums. Most have cpx's or chrome cpx's. One really rich kid has a titanium cpx.

No, I mean't with all the logo's and stuff.

And Slinky, that was a pretty sweet red dye on the revo. Did you have black, curly hair?

Also, I didn't know wtf was going on either, so you weren't alone.

right now in summer leauge you should see our team, we all have different helmets and different colors, none of us have the same type of pinny (not jerseys) and the only thing that most of us have are the school gloves. We still beat everyteam tho, we kinda get over that the other team matches, then we make fun of them

but the fact that they wear triads, kills all intimidation. plus NESLL isnt any good. we usualy play them at UMASS, and they arent anything special

That would kick! Or get custom Mac Daddy's or something. I had short, darker-brown hair. I am like 5'7". I have a black Triad ST helmet. I was that kid who passed, and the ball went straight up :loser:. Also, I got the neon green shooters and sidewall on me good 'ole Swerve.

See you around!

one of the most intimidating teams i have ever seen approach a lacrosse field is St. Ignatius High School from San Francisco.

they have all matching everything. pads, helmets, gloves, sticks (color-wise), bags, pennys, uniforms, cleats, socks, eyeblack. everything. and plus they are very, very good. so the way they look + their reputatoin = intimidating.

my team is super non-intimidating...we just got team equipment but plenty of people (including myself) didn't get any...if you're going to be intimidated make sure it's by a players skill, not what they're wearing/using

feild is pretty big in BC.. i dont think you can do it so much east of here because it gets so cold in the winters but if you make it to nationals watch out for the BC teams i know for sure Coquitlam and New Wesminster are representing us if not a few more teams
