So I was thinking about the recruiting process, and then I thought, if you want to go to a school for lacrosse and send the coaches letters how do you know the school would accept you to begin with?
Im not sure if my question is so clear but recruiting is one thing but acceptance is another thing.
It's still pretty early since im still a freshman, but it still dosent hurt to know

You have to just take a chance. Do you think you would do good enough in that school?

Unless you signed a letter on intent you're not really sure you're going to get in. So just keep your other schools on the back burner if you don't get in.

most coaches will ask you to send them your transcript before they invite you on an official visit. that way everyone knows what your chances are getting into the school. i think they can guarantee some kids acceptance if their grades & SATS are good enough.

Most coaches have a range of GPA or SAT scores they can take. They may be able to sign one low player if they have another high player to average their grades/SAT scores together. But that lower player has to be a really good lacrosse player or this is no reason that coach would want that player.

I was asked to apply as soon as I told the coach I was interested. After you apply a whole lot more can occur.
One they know your GPA and SAT/ACT scores they can range academic scholarship, and of course, after you get in, its all lacrosse from there. Just apply anyway, its not like you have to go there if you get accepted.

they won't recruit you if they know you wouldn't be able to get in....and before you go on your official, if they are questioning it, they will ask you to send a transcript and they will actually run it through admissions to see if you can get in.
my advice is to look at schools with your range of SAT's and GPA

Or the ACT. It depends on where you're going. The ACT's are used more widely from Colorado to the west coast while the SAT's are used from Colorado to the east coast.

Any school that has had me up for an unofficial or has shown any legit intrest in me has asked for my transcript and they will usually take it by admissions and see what they can do and if they can get you in. That why early in the process they can tell you they need you to PG year or retake the SAT's and not be screwed cuz it's too late or anything. But it also really depends on the importance of lacrosse to the school, for example I know a kid that is going to Georgetown who would be flat out rejected in about 2 seconds from the school, his GPA is a 2.98 or something and got around a 1280 on his SAT's, but since lacrosse is so huge at Georgetown, they we're able to get him in.
