any of you try this?

I've done it there and I've shot at those road signs that tell what your speed is. It's hard to get them to work well, but if you shoot in the right spot, it will give your speed.

Yeah, and it'll alert the cops... :laugh

yea my dad has one of those radars that cops use and it works fine for me sometimes it doesnt pick it up if u dont shoot in the right place.

The one time a cop showed up, he was in shock that the radar worked with a ball. I hit 97mph and he was shocked. He tried and was able to get in the mid 20s. Then he told me to cut the **** and go home.

you're suppose to shoot the ball right at the radar.

me and my friends may save up for one. It's 110$, so about 22 per person. Only problem is as soon as I start getting $, I'm gonna buy a harrow.

are there any physics majors here
theres a formula... like distance divided by time = mph...
basically i need to get my friend to get a stop watch... ill position myself 15 yards away... he will start the clock... right at the release point .. ( when the ball comes out of the stick )... and then he will stop it once it crosses the goal line... of course this isnt going to be accurate... but it will give me a general range to how fast it is
i know in tennis... you can calculate how fast your serve is by getting the time it takes the ball to bounce off your racket and cross the opp base line...
i forgot the formula...
distance/time or something i forget
help any1?

well my whole "plan" will never work its not going to be accurate
ill spend all that time... and the first time the calculations will come to like 30 mph and then the 2nd time it will say 150 mph... lol
my best bet would be to go to a baseball place i guess

a radar gun can sometimes be rented and they are like 150 to buy

one of the kids on our team has a clock and he brought it to practice tonight (yeah i know practice on memorial day, but we just screwed around) and i got clocked at 84 with a longstick. not bad eh?

say if you did stand 15 yards away
3 feet to a yard and there's 5280 feet in a mile so multiply by 3 divide your distance by 5280
itll of course be clocked in seconds
so to get hours you want to multiply your time by 3600
speed is distance per time or distance/time
therefore
speed of your shot in miles per hour= (45/5280)/(TIME X 3600)
sorry dude but this is highly impractical cuz if youre shooting 80 mph, the balls gonna be in the net in .0000000296 seconds
good luck measuring that, i think i did it all right
wow i havent done that much work since i was in physics about 2 weeks ago.

go to a camp or something like a festival i went to a Premier tournament... and i got clocked.... the key to getting a faster shot is putting it right on the raddar gun. cause i lost in a shoot out to a kid who supposidly ripped the ball 94 but my first three shots to get to the finals were 93 94 95.... and i ripped one and picked top right corner and got 92 but everyone said the shot was harder than his and more skilled but i still lost the brine flip grip titanium

I haven't finished school yet.... =/
Anyways I find these threads pointless because almost everyone will lie or exaggerate their speed. I shoot an average in game of probably 70, and its fast enough to go in on alot of shots. The highest I've clocked is 78.
