hey i was wondering if it was worth the time and effort to learn how to string sticks. I know you will save money but is it worth it? If it is, does anyone have any websites with instructions on how to string lacrosse sticks?
Thanks

yes because you will save money and u can potentially make money. Also you can fix stick problems such as lip shooters and sidewalls if needed. I would definately learn. Plus you can learn new customs on TLF Tutorials

You should never be allowed to play with a stick if you can't figure out what's wrong with it when it's not doing what you want it to do. EVERYONE should be able to string.

ya, it is definitely worth to learn how to string your sticks...don't even hesitate to learn...the way I learned was I just looked at one of my sticks that was strung and I practiced on another one. And like waterlax said, check out the tuts...they'll answer all your questions

being able to string sticks in an invaluable skill in lacrosse. you can adjust you stick to throw perfect, you can experiment with different things and know that you can always string it back to the way you like it, however, it does take a lot of time because you almost become obsessed with perfecting what you have done...by the way, you'll prolly spend more money if you know how to styring a stick because you will want to try different meshes/traditionals

good because ok this really embarassing but i will tell you: since im a beginner i got a really REALLY unpinched head so i wanted to pinch it so i did the old microwave for 30 seconds trick BUT I DIDN'T KNOW THAT YOU HAD TO TAKE THE MESH OFF so it started smoking and the mesh melted onto the head and now there's a hole in the mesh and my friends brother kept promising me he would string it, but he's on vacation for a month so i have to learn my self now.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, you should never microwave a lacrosse head.

Heck's yes it is worth learning to string!!! It is a tedious job and can be frustrating sometimes, but the reward outweighs all the bad things. That feeling of finishing a nice pocket is awesome. Not only can you save money, but you can make money to by stringing for others. I definately recommend you to learn to string. And ya, e-lacrosse and right here at the forums are probably the two best places to learn to string in my opinoin. Good luck if you decide to learn!
