the prob i could see is that it wouldnt work in as well like it would be pretty stiff and might break easier

When you use sidewall in a custom very very bad things happen..
Ok not really... It doesn't make a horrible difference and i sometimes use sidewall instead of crosslace... I did on a pita i threw together a while back and it worked out fine. You may have a harder time getting your knots tight, and you won't be able to fit as many knots in for the channel. (I did a rp with sidewall and could only get 7 double knots before my saddle when i usually try for 10+)
Anyway good luck with your stringing and be sure to post pictures...

Sidewall is just thicker. It will not work as well as crosslace but it will still come out fine. Although you may encounter some of the problemms Warrior was talking about.

since sidewall is thicker wouldn't it have a less chance of fraying during a game or something?

I always use sidewall instead of xlace. It is stronger and hlds it's shape better.

What about crosslace instead of sidewall? i strung up a pita with sidewall and it worked out fine. And ive strung up a mesh pocket with crosslace and it also worked out fine. but the top string is wearing down quick.

sidewall as crosselace is a very bad idea. the only reason people use it instead of using all crosselace for all stringing is that u can get a different tension for sidewall. U dont need that tension for customs so just use crosslace for ur customs

i just ordered a spool of sidewall to string a space commander because i figured sidewall had a lesser chance of snapping after saves. after readin this thread sounds like that was a bad idea.
