Tape Job and Nylon?

Everytime i see middies do face-offs, i see the type on the top half of the stick. Is there a great advantage of typing your stick?

How do you get the stringing job to look like X's, such as : XXXXX, all the way down the shaft? Or is it better to have it a solid tape job?


Also, i checked the tutorials about the nylons, but i didnt see anything about stringing them? How do you do those? Please post your tips.

taping is all preference

Nylons are used just like any other shooting string. They are just smaller and hold the knot tighter (they don't loosen as quick). They are usually used for preventing/curing lip.

Uh...Fogo's or serious faceoff men tape the head to the shaft with white tape so they can get their hand closer to the head without the ref noticiing. But to get the x's you start taping and just put space in between tape when you go around the shaft...I don't know how to explain it. If you really want to know that bad PM me.
