U.S. colleges are constantly up in Canada recruiting players from the Junior A ranks.
And Cardinal Sports is full of it if they are saying that they were resposnible for getting Zac Greer recruited by Duke. You do not need, I REPEAT, you do not need to pay a company like Cardinal to get recruited!
Here is what you do - pick a school that you like - go to its summer camp after your tenth grade year. Hopefully, they will like what they see and recommend you to one of the top U.S. recruiting camps, like Jake Reed's STX Blue Chip Camp (invitation only by recommendation from college coaches). You can also get into the Top 205 Camp in Maryland by applying but it is much larger than the Blue Chip Camp and it is harder to get noticed there. You want to go to these camps after the 11th grade. The LEAP Camp in Oshawa has also been a very good place to go to get noticed over the last coupel of years, as has the Turkey Shoot tournament in Ithaca.
Contact college coaches to tell them of your interest. E-mail them your qualifications and send them videos or DVDs of you playing. They prefer full game videos over highlight reels. If a coach contacts you respond as quickly as possible. Stay in contact to emphasize your interest.
Good luck.

Will there be any recruiters from US colleges or Junior A teams attending the Founders Cup tournament this week?

Let's put it this way - if they aren't there, they're fools for missing a great showcase of junior-age talent.

I played college lacrosse with a number of Canadian lacrosse players, a few of whom are currently playing in the NLL, and were high draft picks, and their situation was similar to American athletes. If you want to play college lacrosse in the states, contact the coach, send a tape or highlight reel as a start. Most coaches do pay attention to Junior A lacrosse players and the tournaments especially if your team is good enough to make it to playoffs and possibly the MINTO cup. Once you have done this many coaches or assistant coaches will get back to you and then you will know where you stand.

get your team to go to american tournaments. My friends (we are in canada) go to the annual turcky shoot in ithica and when they are there they always seem to get looked at. if not try to get onto a allstar team my friend is on a team and they are sponcered by lots of people and have all been looked at by different collages

Every year, the U19 Team Ontario plays U-19 Team Maryland in a 3 game series. They call it the Brogden Cup. I imagine that if one played for Team Ontario and did well against Maryland, then that would be good exposure.

d1 colleges defenitly look up there. bellarmine university (louisville, kentucky D1) has i think 18 canadians playing for them.. i live in louisville, im good friends with the coaches sons. jack mcgetrick is their coach, and tony vallance is the assistant. try to get in touch with them... they also look at box players, garret kikot and kyle sorenson recently got drafted by the NLL from bellarmine, sorenson went second overall.. go to bellarmine.edu for more information, its a great school, in a really unique and neat area.. they are in the process of building a new stadium, and just got added to the GWLL.. go to this website for the coaches emails...http://www.bellarmine.edu/athletics/dept/staff.asp.. any questions?

Look at a lot of the up and coming schools over established ones as well. There are plenty of low-mid level D1 and D2 schools at most levels that LOVE good Canadian players. They're often seen as a quick shot in the arm (usually for the offense), so to speak.

Dont be afraid to write some letters to schools you are intrested in, tell them you're intrests, you're grades and what you are looking for.

Bellarmine is huge on Canadian kids, as well as Denver if you're really good and have good grades. Also basically every Division II school in the Deep South conference, especially the top ones like Mars Hill, Wingate, Limestone, and Saint Andrews. Also Hartford in D1, as well as Canisius.
I mean, if you're good enough pretty much any school will want to have you, but those are some of the ones with decent to large numbers of Canadian kids already on them. But you're best bet in general (assuming you're looking for scholarships) is just to look at low-mid level D1 and most D2 teams, especially ones that already have Canadian players putting up numbers for them. Just poke around on lax.com and check out some of the teams/schools there, then get in touch with the coaches at schools you're interested in, and send them some tape.

This is good advice however you must be a great, not a good player to get any sort of Scholarship and boys your marks better be great as well. Study for the SAT's as they are tough if you are not prepared. It can be done but it is not a slam dunk like some people like to believe. Good luck but be realistic and honest with yourselves.
