You guys have to be pulling for Mountain Lakes here over Delbarton! Delbarton is a private school who recruits all over the state (including pulling some top talent from ML) to get great Football, Basketball and Lacrosse teams. The championship is a joke as Delby should only be allowed to play against other parochial schools who also recruit kids from all over. Lakes is a small town in northwestern NJ and people eat, drink and sleep with their lacrosse sticks in hand. They consistently have one of the top lacrosse teams in the state and have for years!

BTW, the game is this saturday 6/5 at Rutger's-3:00 PM (double check the time, I am going by memory):agree

then i think it's fair for delbarton to beat them because if they're so good, they should be able to play against a recruiting team, right? so i'd have to say i'm happy that delby won.

I was at the game! ML was playing catch up all day long. It seemed like the Green Wave defense was too much for ML! Delby had some huge defenders who just beat the sh!t out of the ML attackmen and middies all day long!:agree

Ok? Your arguement makes no sense to me!

First of all obviously Lakes can play with them as the game went to overtime and Lakes already beat them in the regular season.

Secondly, my point was that Lakes is a small toen that only has a small population to pick from for a lacrosse team. Delbarton on the other hand has the whole state and the east coast for all I know and they give out scholarships to the best players in the state to go to their school. They even get some Moutain Lakes players to go to Delby!

If you can choose between 200 kids and 10,000+, which group do you think you might get a better team from???

It's common sense that this situation is grossly unfair to a public school, no?:dummy

no, i don't think it's common sense. because i bet you if there were 200 MLL players against 10000 crappy players, the 200 would win so easily.
you say mountain lakes is supposedly lacrosse obsessed, and they're apparently one of the best teams in the state. but you don't think delbarton should even be in the championship game because they're a parochial school and they recruit like crazy. correct me if i'm wrong, but kids choose where they go. delbarton doesn't force them to go there, even though they make it really appealing. my argument is that you're not in a position to say that mountain lakes should win over delbarton because they stick to local talent.

I never said ML should win over Delby! I just think it is unfair for a team that has the ability to recruit all over to play against a small town with a lilmited number of people who can play lacrosse. ML is restricted to playing only the players who live in ML. Dleby can recruit all over the country ifthey want.......Don't you think that gives Delby an unfair advantage???:omg Let Delby play only against teams have have the same ability to recruit as they do!!! Just like in high school football!!!!

so why is the championship a joke? i mean, if mountain lakes could keep up with them, why does it matter if delbarton recruits? they beat them in the regular season, so they stand a chance against them in the finals...i think delbarton can do whatever they want and the game was definitely fair from beginning to end.

The game was certianly fair but the sytem is f'ed up!!! ML should not have to play a team that has been hand selected from the best players throughout the state!!! Why do you think they have division I. II, snd III championships? Do you think it would be fair if a division I school played a division III school in the champinonship??? In football they have a parochial champion and other divsion champions based on popultation. So not only do they separate private from public school, but also break the divisions down by population size to make it more fair to each school! Are you saying that they are doing it wrong it that case!
