Ive just purchased a Gait Havoc and i wanted to know the ups and downs (ect) about it.
Is it a good Defense stick? Ive been playing around with it and it seems pretty strong.

You already bought it so go grab 4 friends, 2 mids, another defensman, and a goalie, and test it out.

I purchased this head a while ago and I believe it is one of the most underated heads out there. I play close defense and long stick middie at post collegate club level and I've found this head does the job. First the head is pretty stiff and is not very flexible like a lot of inexpensive heads. It is no wizard or edge but you can poke check without a ton of bend. I've poked a few guys right in the chest and the stick has kept it form. The Havoc is also pretty light. I have this stick on a a Gait 803 pole and I can really fling the stick around. Again, it is no cyber or deuce in terms of lightness but it is lighter than the revolution, edge, bionic or wizard. It also has a decent scoop for ground balls. I also like the wide face for knocking down passes. Based on my research Gait took a lot of the attributes of their more expensive heads (i.e. Chaos and Mayhem) and put them into this bugger. However, the pocket shock system is totally worthless. I always debate about purchasing a chaos or mayhem head but I don't see how either head can be $50 to $60 dollars better than this one. If you want more ball control, I would pinch this head.
At least from a defensive prospective this head gets the job done at a great price. My only worry is that there is a limited supply of these heads out there since you can only find this head at the major retail chains.

If i decide to pinch this head i would need to take off the pocket shock thing? And is it possible to leave the mesh ON? or will it mess it up.

I would see Brandon303 threat about pinching the Havoc.

In my humble opinion the pocket shock system does absolutely nothing. I think it was designed to cushion the pocket when catching a pass, but it doesn't work. However, it does not make the stick any better or worse.

In the Sportchek in Otawa, where I picked it up, it was $80 for a complete stick. I returned it after I pinched and restrung it though. It was too expensive for something that I'd never use in a game.
