I am going to be a sophomore in the fall, and at my school, we start to consider colleges during soph. year. I started playing in 8th grade, and love the sport. I just have my doubts if I can/want to play in college.

I am 5'10, 190 lbs. , and play Defense. I am a take away defender, but I am on the slower side. My dream is to play D I but, knowing the way I am, I suck. I was wondering, since I am not the fastest defender out there, does that rule me out for DII or possibly not let me go higher than DII?

What should I do training wise, and what should I do to get noticed by colleges?

Anything would be helpful.

Thanks.

^^Agreed, to play D1 you need to be a great athlete and NEED speed. (defenders have to run too)

ok since we are on the topic... (i am in no way meaning to jack the thread)

how difficult would it be to play for army or airforce? i play on a team that went to sonoma and will be going to san diego in january. i have kinda been looked at by the coach of NDNU at a camp i went to.

ill be a junior next year and in only 5 8 but i have a pretty good stick and have pretty good speed. cuz i want to go to school for army or airforce and i was wondering how hard it would be to play there.

talk to your school's track coach; he can give you tips on getting faster. you may need to make a decision if the extra effort is really worth it for you, though. most of the really great D1 players used recruiting services and played elite club. even PAUL RABIL was just paul rabil until he transfered to WCAC powerhouse Dematha and did crabs and crossroads.
