i play for mission viejo in orange county.#2 attackmen sophmore on varsity, next year we will be pretty good considering we lost 9 seniors last year. this is our first year being a school sport so the competition will be alot better. a few kids were getting looked at by Tufts university(d3),but none went. my buddy just went to ny maritime.

i play for bonita vista h.s. in south san diego, #22, varsity attack going into my senior year, i might be switching to middie this year though not sure yet. we should be pretty decent, our team was carried by the juniors last year so we'll definitely have strong senior class this year with hopefully some good leadership from the players. only problem is our coach was fired and it looks like the jv coach will be taking over, who has never played lacrosse before so if you guys know of anybody with good knowledge of lacrosse in SD who's looking for a coaching job let me know

I play for Loyola High School in Los Angeles. Not sure what number I'll be this year. I was #7 last year. I'm on varsity. I do faceoffs and play middie (offense and defense, but mainly offense).

We finished 17th in the state overall last year (D1) and IMO we are going to be way stronger this year. We have a lot of really strong returning seniors including our goalie who was on the California U19 State Team and a lot of strong juniors (including myself).

La Quinta High School, #44, 3rd year (1st year Varsity), Defense (2nd year Defense). As for how my team will do...I think we will do pretty good in the OCLax league since all the top teams from last year went CIF.

Preuss (idk why but it seems that most schools we play against us either really hate us or hold a grudge), #29 last year looking for #6 this year, high school level, i think its DIII (so horrible huh?), we will do horrible this year Middie but im staring to love playing attack now, the only person who i know who has been tried to get recriuted was a seinor last year to ND but he turned it down to be with his gf.

we are gonna do soo bad this year, last year was kinda bad/ good on and off, too many arguements within the team and other teams called our guys N!GG@$ and well we got into like 2 fights cuz of that, this year we lost 12 seinors from last year who made up the whole first and second middie line and much of the defence, now that theyre gone our whole team lacks experience, +there were only 2people on our current team who scored more than once last year,+ our coach left us and we have a football coach for lacrosse, which isnt so bad because he's leaning at the same pace with most of our players who are mainly new. and it seems like i'm the only one who thinks our team doesnt even practice correctly and so many people keep dropping the F***** ball and the coach keeps telling us to shoot accurately, speed comes later, (but most of us know how to shoot accurately already) but reading articles and posts people make, which basically said shoot fast as hell like theres no tomorrow and just keep shooting fast and work on technique.

(sorry about the lack of good grammar ect. i just never had a time to vent about how horrible my team is this year, it just feels like crap when you have high expectations but then you come back the next year and be like WTF they were seinors?)

Our 2 local [NoCal] High schools are pretty good. Monte Vista was ranked #1 in CA last year, losing only to Costa Canyon. And San Ramon Valley is ranked #1 so far this year, although of course it is still early. They both have great facilities.

Really. Agoura won? Wow. Things are a little different than I expected, but then again, it's still early.

Not as well as I thought they would. Im probably going to end up covering Abraham. Agoura kept his driving down to a minimum, but they werent able to shut down all his outside shots. He didnt get into the crease too much, Agoura held him there. But when he did get in he had some good feeds and I think he got one goal that way.

Barazza was definitely a standout early on. Most of the first half was a game of catchup- point westlake, point agoura, point westlake, point agoura. He had a lot of success driving down from point, but after the first quarter agoura started to really shut that down.

I didnt pay much attention to any Agoura guys,I was mainly checking out westlake people(either the players or the girls in front of us :naughty: )

ps- Im probably going to be watching West vs. SB friday, any attacks in particular you think I should be watching? I think our d can shut down most of westlakes driving, but Im wondering if theyve got anybody I should pay attention to. And if you want me to check some guys out for you I can do that too.

It's debatable. He's great, our goalie is good, the TO goalie is okay, and the Agoura goalie is okay. Moto has actually improved A TON though. Nothin to say about SB, haven't really seen him play.

What would you do if your coach told you that you will not be the starter in your position because they wanted the senior in your position to be seen by the colleges and you can wait your turn for next year? This, after you have already proven you are the better player.

I guess, at the same time, what if you are that senior and you know your only chance is if you get to play over an underclassman who is better?

amador hasnt been good at lacrosse ever really but this year we have a full roster of varsity players who are mainly lacrosse players unlike the past years where we had football players who played lax just to do something in the off season who didnt work very hard to be better at lacrosse. This year we should be better then years past and look forward to playing the EBAL teams.

SI team was the best team i have ever played, chips fine although he lacks actual lacrosse experience because he has only played for 1 year, but he is extremely athletic. im not really sure how to explain the SI game but we did hit pipe twice and finally had some sort of offensive shots near the end of the game(not that it would have made any difference in score, and how SI controls and plays their game.) Its now obvious why they are ranked #2 on WSL. good luck to SI and the rest of there season.

Well, we (Oak Park) played Dana Hills today, and pretty much wrecked them. 12 - 1, with our starters in only the first half, and their only goal was a kid falling over and flipping the ball over his head. They weren't too good.

Woodbridge beat Agoura, 9 - 3, I believe. We'll be playing them next weekend. Their keeper looks strong.

Im guessing your from SI. You beat us 5-4 after being up 5-0 in the first half. If we weren't playing running halves, you prbbly would have lost. By the way, Foothill beat LCC last year.

In all optimism, I think we might have a shot at grabbing a win against agoura in the regular season too. We certainly arent favored to do it, but I think once we put ourselves in order we'll have something good going. Our man-up offense atm is atrocious, and our defense on transitions could use work. I think all but 2 of the goals against us from westlake came off of groundballs and fast breaks, there was very little they could do against a set defense. Once we get those groundballs under control on the defensive(and offensive) end we'll be good.

It just takes sheer defensive experience with ALL players to guard a motion offense. If even ONE guy hasn't had experience guarding one, the defense will fall apart.

It also takes a great offense to run one...hehe.

In all honesty though, from what I've seen, you guys are easily the most improved team, BY FAR, and should give most teams a run for their money. Seriously. Once your guys have a some more game experience, you guys will start to mesh real well as a team, and things will start happening.

We play you guys 3/16, looking forward to it. I'll be wearing #3.

Trust me, we will make a run for the playoffs, even if Pat and I have to carry the whole team on our backs. TomTom and LaxConejo who are you guys??? Ryan, I do not have an issue with Westlake, I have an issue with your loyalities. You post on who to guard on Oak Park, talk about the offense and in the same breath, praise the heck out of Westlake. Sounds like you are on the wrong team. Is your motive to have other teams guard Oak Park's players so you can get more points? I question how that isnt supposed to be offensive. if you want to make fun of us, go ahead, Im not going to hold it against you because Im aware we arent a great team. But putting "no offense" in front of something does not make it any less of an insult. Besides, what've you got against NP?

We were supposed to play them this weekend. But now they switched the schedule on us and we play Dana Hills instead. We dont get to play Woodbridge during the reagular season, only during the OC tourney.

Well...we lost. 5-3. We had great control of the game early on, and defensively had great coverage in the first half, as far as Im aware rudolph didnt get a single shot/successful feed. They stepped it up the the 2nd half though, and we, well, didnt. We only materialized a single goal that half, and got caught on some late slides on d. I really feel like I let our goalie down though, he was ON FIRE, but i guess theres nothing more to do than look to agoura.

We'll still be there fighting. Our main problem has been just sticking to the systems we practice, looking back at that Santa Barbara game we dominated most of the 1st half, and then stopped doing whatever it was we were doing in the 2nd half. I can honestly say I didn't need to throw more than 2-3 checks the entire first half, our offense was controlling so well. SB came back strong though, Ive gotta hand it to them.

they aren't that good. they have a good faceoff guy and thats about it. They WILL play dirty by playing rougher. if you are traveling down to OC the refs aren't going to call anything. but if your playing up here they probally will have alot of penalties. Also, there coach is a jerk and yells and screams.

From what I saw from the Woodbridge-Agoura game, Woodbridge has a strong defense and a great goalkeeper.

im pretty sure. they played like that way last year and they havent really changed. i think that the faceoff guy i meant as an attackmen or middle i forget. Im not worried much about TO, we practice next to them so we scrimmage them occasionally, or used to, now our fields are moved. Its Agoura I'm worried about, because I know to beat them then we'll need to play a near perfect game on both offense and defense.

i play for mission viejo in orange county.#2 attackmen sophmore on varsity, next year we will be pretty good considering we lost 9 seniors last year. this is our first year being a school sport so the competition will be alot better. a few kids were getting looked at by Tufts university(d3),but none went.

Miramonte is not all that good. The area has one feeder program for 4 schools and the best of the group go to De La Salle. The rest: Miramonte, Campolindo and Acalanes, which Acalanes is the best of the rest.

Miramonte won their conference in 2006, finishing ahead of both Acalanes and Campolindo (the other Lamorinda High Schools), and was one of 8 teams that went to the North Coast Sectionals for post-season play. In recent years, the youth Lacrosse feeder program, Lamorinda Lightning, has had more Orinda players than either of the other two towns forming Lamorinda.

Miramonte has a strong coach and next year will get the largest group of the talented Lightning 8th grade youth program, in my opinion. I do not agree with "Just Because" that De La Salle gets all the best players from the Lightning, though they certainly get some of them. For example, of the seven 8th grade Lightning playing on travel teams, 4 live in Orinda, 2 live in Lafayette (but will attend Campolindo) and one lives in Pleasant Hill, and will attend De La Salle.

I went to SI and i am damn proud of my cats in their win tonite in SD. so for all those SD kids who claimed Socal would smoke us...haha you just got the pants beat off both your top teams, not including the win SRV is going to pull of 2m agaisnt TP. and about MVD, they are good, but not enough to make Socal lucky for its absence, although i like they way that sounded...
