use rit dye. i use liquid rit when i dye black, and i leave it in the water for a long tim

when i dye black I use one bottle of liquid rit dye, but 2 packets should work, if you use one packet it might not be concentrated enough. but ive never tried one packet, so you can try it.

I dyed a head black once, over orange... I dyed it w/ 2 packets of black... then it was like a dark reddish color, so I used 1 packet of navy and that got it to a darker purple, then I used 1 more packet of black to get it nice and dark... Try putting salt in the water when you're boiling it... (it's on the directions of the dye box/bottle), it raises the boiling point of the water and helps the dye get mixed in and the extra heat helps dye the head.

Use Rit dye then search for the tutorial on dying a head black. I think a few people made some good posts on how to get it just right.
