Im from johnstown which isn't too far from albany.. Theres a really good sports complex in Halfmoon where they always have leagues and competitions. They have an indoor field and its pretty cool.

Apart from that, breakaway is a good choice. Theres one in niskyuna as well that has some info on where to play. I'll try to get more info for ya on wednessday when i go to my league.

yeah check out b-way, they will probably have sheets for capital land lacrosse, which is the one that uses the halfmoon sportsplex, an excellent facility. that runs pretty much from fall through the winter, and then during the summer theres mohawk lacrosse club, which is really a lot of fun and theres some great competition. but definately check b-way.

Yeah, I live in Bethlehem (right outside of Albany), couple of things I could suggest. Definetly play Capitaland, I'm playing this year, it's Sundays and Thursdays at Halfmoon. Go to Breakaway, talk to the people there, and pick up some catalogs on fall ball games and clinics. Also, just meet some lacrosse players and get together some pick up games, lacrosse is quite popular around here. Good luck.

I will be up in Albany a bunch of weekends this fall as I live on LI, do they take registration for players that arent there every week?

Yea, but you'd probably have to pay full price.

You will not have to pay full price, unless you want to. This goes for everyone You can do one of two things. They are:

1:Pay full price right off the bat (I don't know off the top of my head)
2:Pay as you play ($17.00 a night, I think)

Hope this helps.

Are you sure? I play in in varsity on Sundays, and both varsity and men's on Thursdays. But I haven't heard about anything for men's on Sunday. There's nothing on the Capital Land website about it.

Any info on games for adult beginners near Albany? Capitalland sounds good, and there's plenty of programs for high school and college kids, but I haven't found anything for someone post-college looking to develop the skills before joining a full on league and torquing off all the players who already know what they're doing.

im not sure about anything for beginners, but i know on thursdays there is a league and even though there are some legit college AA's playing there are also guys that are pretty new to the game

Yeah even though i play in the varsity leagues in capitoland, the adult players play right after us at about 10 at Sportsplex in Halfmoon. Its really cool to watch the adults play cause tons of players from UAlbany, Bimington and local colleges come and have teams. So check out http://capitalandlacrosse.com/

I will be playing on 1/10 and 1/17 from 10 to 11 but i will be playing in the varsity league. Im guessing the adult league will be playing while we also play.
