What kind of media player software do you use the most on your computer?
I'm really interested in the mp3 software that you guys use, I was wondering if there were any good ones out there I haven't heard of.
right now I'm using iTunes and so far it seems like the best one (I've tried, Windows Media Player, Winamp, Music Match).
To me iTunes is the most simple and has pretty decent sound quality.
Windows Media Player: I really prefer not to use this one because its just too generic. I dont think Microsoft knows what they are doing when it comes to music.
Winamp: Winamp is cool sometimes cause you can watch TV on it (Family Guy, Seinfield) but now it's overloaded with porn and all that and its getting to be a real joke. Plus the music quality on Winamp is really bad compared to the others
Music Match: This one probably has the best sound quality than the others (iTunes included), and goes good with Harmon Kardon speakers. There's also tons of other stuff you could do with this but you need to buy the full version, the basic version isn't that bad. I would use Music Match if it wasn't so complicated (I can't make it play random songs continuously, it keeps on asking for a playlist and I dont want to make one).

iTunes. I really like it because it makes burning CD's so easy. I also like it for when I get my iPod. (if I get one)

I like winamp. It is pretty good for playlists and I don't really care about sound quality so that doesn't bothter me. Its simple to use and you can make it look really cool with some of the skins that you can download. I have tried iTunes and its ok but you can do more things (in my oppinion) with winanp. I hate that you have to buy the full version of music match and it bothered me so much that I stopped using it.

Winamp -- Was all good till version 3, downgraded back to 2, tried 5, but the problem with 5 is that to unleash the full capabilities of Winamp you have to pay for it... thats a crock of ****, with iTunes i can rip Cds, burn cds, make covers for those burnt CDs, easily share music over a network, etc. For those same features i got for free, i would have to pay for in Winamp.
Musicmatch -- Sucks dont get it. Period.
iTunes -- Good, but i dont like the fact that it does not have the ability to customize the skin (on windows, on Macintosh you can). Everything else, i love about it.
The positives for iTunes outweighed some small negatives and it has a new feature that will be made available in 4.6 (AirTunes) in conjunction with the new Airport Express.

You can't really diss Music Match though... it has far superior sound quality than iTunes (noticable) the only thing is that it's too complicated and iTunes is just so darn simple to use.
Actually I have this software called powerDVD (primarily a DVD player but you can play music also) I really dont think theres a better media player out there, the sound and picture quality cannot be passed. Well worth the $50 I paid for it...
I dont think I'll be using powerDVD for music though since, like I said, its primarily a DVD player.
If anybody want's to check out the trial version ...

1. FAST
2. Tons of everything... All high quality
3. No RIAA
4. You can leech as much as you want.
5. Did i mention fast?
For me i can download 1 gig (approx. 7 albums) in an hour, Good luck getting even one album with P2P. ANY P2P.
This is the oldest "P2P" thing, before Napster, mIRC, AIM, Morpheus, all of them...
Best part: Fox news hasnt ruined it like: Napster, and Kazaa

I have playlists in WMP, and for songs I've gotten from friends etc. that aren't on playlists, I play them on Wimamp. I have iTunes I think, maybe I'll try it.

BRING IT ON!
We won't "Race" persay because we are too far apart geographically....
Just measure your fastest speed on the 21st of June (Thats when my free slower account, limited to 1 gig account gets renewed)
Guarenteed i will school your ***, why? Because News Bin takes FULL ADVANTAGE of your internet connection. Thats how i'm getting speeds rivaling my internet connection (3mbps a Sec)
**EDIT** -- The only reason i argue is that i feel its the absolute best downloading service on the net. Yes you have to pay, but you are not limited by speed(except your own) and are not limited by bogus files, or the hope that someone is generous to share with you specifically.

wait dude... I have a cable modem and you have 56K
I'd use newsgroups definately if I didnt have to pay for it, but why would I pay for it when I can get comparable stuff (for what I do) w/ Ares
but I accept your challenge damm*t...

I have Comcast as well...
internet speed is measured in bits, not bytes.
And i have reported my internet at being above 3 Megabits a sec.

Exactly. And thats why we are better than you.
While your computers are breaking down and getting h4xxord we are comfortably sitting eating a power bar, drinking bawls watching a pirated movie or playing a pirated game.
While you suckers have to pay for our misdeeds, heh heh
(this BTW is a joke, Pirating movies is a federal crime...)
