Best zelda?

I know this is a 'preference' thread. But i dont really think it counts as a pref. thread here in the open forum...

My friend and I are argueing over which zelda game is the best.

I say Ocarina of Time, and he says Wind Waker...
I say Ocarina of Time because i think it was like a revolution in video games at teh time it came out and its just a classic.
He says wind waker because it has better graphics, and he says its funner...
Honestly, i like all of the zelda games... But OoT just stands out to me.
Which is your favorite out of every zelda game ever made (Excluding gameboy games)?


I still play OoT, and Majora's mask on my N64. And The original Zelda on the Good 'ol NES.

AHHHHH!!! Where is Links Awakening (for the GB) That game was fun. Ocarina of time and Wind waker are both good. Different styles of gameplay so they both are fun.

I got the special edition Majora's Mask for my N64 and I hated it. It gets so tedious having to always travel back in time.

The Original is always going to be awesome because... it is the original.

Yea I also had the special edition Majora's Mask that came with the gold controller. I probably wasted a good 2 weeks playing that friggan game.

wow i was just playing both the N64 games like last week. i always do it every once and a while.


also, there is a new zelda game coming out for nintendo wii, and you can see a trailer on the website. http://wii.nintendo.com/home.html <<<--- just click the "Gripping Games Video" link and it shows all the games coming out. although im a little iffy about how this system will do, if it catches on i think the new zelda game may be the best zelda game ever

Links Adventure...That game was the best. OoT is a close second. I really enjoyed Majoras Mask, It did get tiring going back in time and losing all of your stuff though. Wind Waker is ok, but its not on the same level as the N64 Zeldas.

many of you are probably too young to remember the original zelda games... i voted for a link to the past because i cant remember how many hours i spent playing those games... and the old school nintendo froze a lot... like when your about to get farther then you ever have, and bam it freezes. god nothing beats nintendo... ever

I have to say Orcarina of Time. That games was amazing. The graphics were good and it looked pretty good at that time.

Wind Waker looked too animated when I got it. It just did not work. Majora's Mask was also good, but Orcarina was better.

O am waiting for the new one to come out. I heard it is really good.

Link to the Past was the best with Ocarina of Time at a close second. I couldn't get into Wind Waker like the rest but I have a DS Lite so I will be getting Phantom Hourglass which is a sequel to Wind Waker, I think the cel shaded art will look a lot better on a handheld. Never did 4 swords but I heard it was OK. And I never played the first two but supposedly the second game was the worst in the series and the original was great. Majora's Mask was great but no where near OoT.

thats exactly what i was going to say, i was almost done writing my post when i looked at the other ones and saw yours so i didnt write it because it would be practicly the exact same.

oh and the new one is going to be like ocarina of time and majora's mask not like that super animated weird crapy disgrce to the series wind waker.

Twilight Princess looks unbelievable. It's said to have more dungeons than OoT. Right now my favorite would be OoT with Link to the Past a close second. I remember I used to play OoT when I was really little and would never get past the first three levels because I was scared of redeads. Then about a year ago I started to play it again and spent far more time finding gold skulltulas and fishing than doing homework or eating.

I voted for Wind Waker only because it's the only zelda I've ever played through. I pre-ordered WW so I got OoT and Majora's Mask for Gamecube but I was too caught up with WW to really get into either of the 2. Sometimes I wish I still had my faithful Gamecube...

Ocarina of Time brings back some great memories, probably my favorite video of all time. Majora's Mask was also pretty sick, you had to buy that expansion pack though.

this is so wild that this thread was made
because just like 3 days ago i dusted off my old school NES and just beat the original legend of zelda. i even beat the second quest just to prove i still can.

and it got me thinking what my favroite zelda was and it has to be a tie between OoT(64) and a link to the past(SNES) and the original zelda (NES)
the first one was just such a huge leap in gaming at the time and revolutinized the whole industry. The same can be said OoT and Lnk to the past. The sheer size of both games was so unheard of when they were both first released. Link to the past had a whole second world to it. And the first time you see zelda in 3d, it is just amazing. Not to mention each one kept the game play fresh and fun.

Picking a favroite zelda game is like asking a mother to choose her favriote child, its just not fair. I own and have played and beaten every single one(Majoras mask i only own for the gamecube not the orignal 64 version, though i still want to by it) and it took me forever to decide on even a three way tie.

yes video games is a passion of mine, second only maybe to lacrosse. They are both my favroite things to do. and zelda is my favroite game series of all time so i have a lot to say on the matters

And i must say I was disappointed with the difficulty of fighting the 3 'Majora' stages at the end.
It was Wayyyyy too easy with the Feirce Deity's mask on.

AM17, next time just dont use the Fierce Deity Mask. Did you think the Goron Maze thing to get the heart piece from the skull kid was just really annoying?
It took me 2 hours to figure out that i needed to let go of the control stick to bounce off of the chests right. :dummy: :dummy: :dummy: :argue:
I got so mad.
But then when i figured it out i nearly started hitting myself.



PS: If y'all didnt know. They're coming out with another zelda...i think its gonna be for the new nintendo system.

the new zeldas supposed to be awesome on the new nintendo b/c you get to use the controller as the sword, like w/ the motion sensing you swing the controller instead of pressing a button. they also are making the same one for the gamecube but w/o the motion sensing (i think)

and yea, beating the mask at the end is very easy with the fierce dietys mask. without it, its tougher.

but i gotta admit, the fierce dietys mask is bad*** its so fun to beat old bosses with it on

The one for the original nintendo. That game has to be the best Link game ever. I spent pretty much all of first through third grade playing that game. If i could only find my nintendo now.

just they gamecube version has no motion, just normal controls
