Most of that stuff is.

Funny, i watched that show wednesday, then yesterday I was reading the new SI. Hoover is No.1 in the nation, and that was last years season. The only returning player from the show this year is Ross Parker (the QB) i think.

It was alright kinda boring. More football less drama.

Their 2-a-days arnt that hard, some people are just to dramatic.

It still got me pumped for my football season though.

Haha, you live in New Jersey. You don't even know man...the humidity in Louisiana, missisippi, Bama, and florida is almost unbearable. Plus you haven't even been practicing? So you don't even practice during the hottest part of the summer?

dude up in vermont where i live, it may not get as hot but the humidity matches the temp. plus we have to adjust to below zero winters. yea even our two a days seem worse than what they do and i play vermont football.

Yeah same here. I read the SI article and it told me how the season was going to end, but oh well. I think the show is pretty good. Their coach says some pretty funny stuff though.

I was in Northfield for part of the last two summers and the humidity was almost unbearable, so I would have to agree with you. I played football a long time ago it seems and at my college in Virginia, our two a days (three a days when things went bad) were horrible in the heat and humidity we had, but that is college those are just kids.

chsattack22
08-27-2006, 10:14 PM
yea, the humidity is horrible i think its because ot the switch from below zero winters to 95 degree summer days with 85 percent humidity.

I was watching it and the game against Nease wasnt even close , they showed the scoreboard and the score was 50- 29 or something like that. Both teams were good though. And as for the drama that can end up being funny when they are really over dramatic.

ill probaly watch it again, because thats probaly one of the few shows i can actually enjoy on mtv...id rather watch a show about football with drama...than to watch something like laguna beach where all they complain about is if they cant get the new mercedes for their birthday, or that their house only has 8 bathrooms instead of 8.5......i still cant come to the conclusion why people could watch that show....if i wanted to see rich people complain that much, i would just go to mainstreet in my town during the summer and shoot them with an airsoft gun

They were opening against Nease..not the state championship...

Who does two a days in the winter? Seriously...? No, we don't, our season doesn't go that far...we stop in decembr, when it's in the 30's.

I don't know where you get your information.

Last year Lakeland FL was the #1 High School Football Team. Followed in fourth by yours truly's Alma Mater #4 Saint Thomas Aquinas (Ft. Lauderdale).

My room mate went to the HS that won Alabama's HS Football Championship for Hoover's division and told me that Hoover is lucky if they win 2 or 3 games out of their schedule. (I go to college in Mobile Alabama so tons of people know about that school and how it is stupid that the show is about their football team when they suck).

Seriously, no real football playing sports loving man would ever want to be on MTV to be a on some drama show that is just a Red State version of Laguna Beach.

Atleast make it about a team that actually wins championships or goes undefeated and has people on it's team that are bigger than 6'5" and actually go to football powerhouses like LSU, UMiami, USC, or Notre Dame
(Like..... my high school?)

irishlaxburger2
08-30-2006, 10:36 AM
Besides the main characters on the show (which actually arent the best players but MTV's choices to make the best TV show) and a few others, basically everyone returns on Hoover this year. SI has them as preseason #1 in America for this reason. They have at least 5 kids on this year's roster with D1 schollie offers, and Ross (the QB), would be a top 100 player in the nation if he were 2 inches taller and hadnt committed to Alabama to play baseball so early. Some say he is the best high school baseball player in the country though. Last year, when the show was recorded, was actually noted as a down year for the program in terms of talent in the senior class.

BTlaxripper, I dont wish to be mean but you are almost entirely wrong with your post. Hoover has had one of the best high school football programs in the country for the past 10 years, and this year have already been dubbed #1 in the land by SI and others (including USAToday, etc). In my opinion, Lakeland really should be #1 judging on all the talent they have (Brown probably going to FSU of UF, Pouncey Twins committed to UF I believe, Rainey committed to UF, and a slew of other kids with top D1 offers) but thats beside the point. As an ND fan, I would like to thank you for your school's contribution in Sam Young (starting at RT against GT this weekend) and Danny Wenger, but would also like to say that if you were to play Hoover, Id put my money on them. STA is definately a top 25 team in the country year in and year out, but Hoover returns everyone from a team that finished top 10 last year (actually a "down season" for them in terms of talent of last year's senior class) and looks to dominate all year this year. That said, I would love to see a game like that because a) I live in NY and our high school football is pretty abismal for our population compared to other states, b) it would be a great game between two national high school powerhouses, and c) because Id like to see your safety Major Wright light someone up live. Ive seen film on the kid and heard that he is the hardest high school hitter in America.

As for the show, too much drama, most of which was fabricated by MTV to lure in their biggest viewer group (teenage girls) to watch the show.

i saw one of them. one of the kids, i think his name was matt, the guy with long hair, was hardly working (or at least the camera didnt show him working very hard), and he started throwing up like crazy. i would definitely like to see more football in the show.

but i was amazed when during the game, they showed the thermometer and it said 140+

I've had Conditioning since June 18th

the varisty camp started August 14th

besides the last week it was in the 90's-100's during most of the camp and its been humid all summer.

NJ is hard to play in too because our weather is so sparadect last night we had a scrimmage it was 55 degree's w/ rain and 40 mph winds, 5 days prior it was 98 degree's and humid

The shows ok but there are some things that make me mad. One is how come they only talk about those two safeties. i remember i watched this team play last year and there were much better players on this team and i would much rather hear about them. Also i this is probably something i should not of noticed but has anyonme else noticed that none of the main characters are black but half the team is black.

first of all, its a terrible show. Second, they are ranked number one, but their record is 1-0, so there is a lot of season to go. id be interested if they go far.

I hate all these kind of shows, OC, Laguna Beach, ect. It makes me want to shove a spoon in my ear and scramble my brain.

also, their unis are terrible, i hate that template that they use, with that wierd back bib stripe and all.
