I recieved an IRiver for my birthday, a 6GB one. Everything about it is awsome and I love it. To put music on it I use the program they gave me that came on a disc which was packaged with the mp3 player. It's kind of like IRiver's version of windows media player, ya know.
So, here are my only problems- I put some Simple Plan (the band) on it, and when I go to music, then artists, it has 3 different Simple Plan categories. Why doesn't it just group all of it in one Simple Plan categorie/folder instead of 3? Is there some way to fix this? It also does this with a couple other bands.
And, my other problem, which is my biggest problem, is that it is a 6GB player, and I have about 620 songs on it, however, it says I only have 800MB left! Shouldn't I be able to hold at least 2000 or so songs? Shouldn't I have much more than 800MB of free space left if I only have a little more than 600 songs on it?
thanks for any help!

That is because the 620 songs you have are long and take up more memory. You could hold more shorter length songs than longer length songs

its probably because the id3 tagging is different on different songs. you'll have to retag it but that'd take a LONG time

Well your first problem is that you have Simple Plan on your iPod. Next your songs might be long and take up memory.

What format are you using for the songs? If they're lossless, they'll take up more room then mp3 or other lossy formats.
^^^Now I wait to get proven completely wrong and get humiliated like I always do.

I would imagine that one of your songs is screwed up, and has about 40 minutes of blank noise on the end of it. Just go through all of your songs, and try to find it.

Well, I think they are in mp3 format, I'm not sure though, is there anyway I can check???
And, it can't be that the songs are to long cause a lot of them are average length (ya know, 3-5minutes).

its probably that they are wmv format and not mp3
