today i saw ladder 49 for my first time and i hate to admit it but...i cried my eyes out...my being a fire explorer and an aspiring firefighter thought during the whole movie...wow i can believe this could happen to me someday...i am very close to all of my brothers(and sisters) at the dept. and this would suck if it really happened...i thought the saddest part about it is how he talks to his son about having a dagerous job and then goes out and looses his live to save other people...discuss
searched but was only in saddest movie thread...

as a fellow fireman, i feel you, but this takes place in a Major city, and i cant imagine there many 30+ story buildings in syracuse. Your dealing with mostly housefires and such, where there is less of a risk of collapse.

Its a good movie and a very sad movie. But Backdraft was alot better.

i dis agree.i think the ladder 49 was more "fire like" even though you can even see 1 foot in fromt of you in a full blaze.the flahover in backdraft was nothing like what a real one would be like.

I could not stand Ladder 49! The movie was predictable and every time I hear about someone crying at it I start laughing. What made you cry? The main character had no character development, the movie's screenplay is cliche, and I overall thought it sucked.
