I didn't know if this should go in the goalie section or not, but what is the differance between a goalie shaft and an attack shaft?

I play in an indoor league the only allowed us to use attack sticks, so that is what I have been playing goalie with. They are now allowing the goalies to play with actual goalie sticks, and I'm wondering if I should get a goalie head and just put that on the shaft I have now or should I buy a complete new goalie stick?

Goalie shafts are usually 40 inches long, where the attack shafts are usually around 30. The extra length helps with longer outlet passes, but its not needed. A goalie can use an attack shaft if it is his preference.

Short sticks in lacrosse must be between 40" and 42" in length total. (measured from top of head to end of shaft)

Defense sticks must be between 52" and 72" total.

A team may have up to 4 long poles on the field at once. No more. The rest of the players must have sticks between 40 - 42". Except for the goalie. A goalie stick can be any length he wants.

Or a d pole. Man I want to see a goalie using a d pole.

It's all preference, some people find a short pole lighter and easier to handle whilst others can manage with a long pole in which case they get the benefit of long passes.
