hm. im totally new and need help on....everything im in 10th grade is it alright to start at a grade like this or am i too late?
No one is really too late to start lacrosse. Though to become a good player, just a good player, you have to practice night and day to become as good as the players who have been playing for about 7 to 3 years. Some people never become as good as they want, usually because they do not give the sport enough time. Others are good right from the start because they are natural athletes. It may take forever. Get together with friends, or just find a huge wall. Buy some cheap pads or borrow some pads from someone you know.
All the information you ever need can be found here.

It's never too late, ever. I had a junior start playing and ended up being the best player on my team, captain, all-star. She's now one of the best players in the area and soon to be one of the better players on her college team. Other players are amazed that she only played 2 years in high school, or don't even know and assume she's played for a long time or an east coast transplant.
Get in touch with the coach, come early to practice and stay late asking for help. Talk to other, more experienced players and ask them for help and advice. Most importantly HIT THE WALL.
Good luck with starting lacrosse and welcome to the community. If you have any specific questions by all means ask and peruse the various forums on here for tips such as the Equipment forum and the Lacrosse Instruction, Tactics and Training forum. The Lacrosse Rules And Officiating forum is a good place to learn about the rules and ask questions about those as well.

I forgot his name, but someone on Navy when they play Syracuse in the championships never played in high school. If your willing to work hard, it's never too late.

dude, you could be the best on your team if you practice in all your spare time, it just depends on how bad you want it and how much time you put in. there arnt really no no's that people wouldn't understand about since your just starting, just have an open mind to instruction. oh did i mention play all the time, cuz you should.

This is incorrect. If you play for a high school that actually has a team and lacrosse is sanctioned in your state, chances are your team can/will provide you with just about every piece of equipment you need to play aside from a stick, cup, cleats, and mouthguard. It's getting to the point where even a lot of club teams have a couple of sets of gear around too. Most teams don't want to have a kid drop a couple hundred bucks on brand new equipment, only to find he doesn't like lacrosse a few weeks later, so they have equipment they can provide.
Ask the coach of your team what, if any, equipment is provided and what equipment you'll have to buy.

It's never too late to start. I know some talented players that started playing when they were 17.
As for the equipment, you have to buy pretty much everything.
