Attackmen Pocket Location

I was reading an article on E-Lacrosse and it said that a mid range pocket is recommened for attack but ive seen other places that say you should have a low pocket

i like a low pocket because it brings the ball closer to my hand and i feel more control
i just wanted to hear some of your guys opinions

For me... (my preference)

Low pocket: On wide heads usually just because the most pinched part is at the bottom.

Mid Pocket: On pinched heads... thats all I have to say.

High Pocket: Usually on really pinched heads. I never really use them except to mess around with.

i personally think it has to do with how your cradle, or what your comfortable with. i have a high pocket corner pocket in my kannon, but mid or mid-high pockets in all of my mesh pockets. i started out at middie and maybe thats why i got used to that type of pocket. but i cant play with a low pocket, its just awkward for me.

i used to use a low pocket, but im starting to get used to a high pocket for a quicker release. im going to play it during indoor and see how it works out.

well i made my low pocket but have my shooters lower and it has quick release and a reasonable mid range deep pocket

mid-low for me, but thats just with mesh. I rotate through tho, I started with a mid-moved to a high, then dropped it low. Moving from pocket to pocket was weird, but once I got it tweaked, it didn't make too much of a difference. Once i get my stuff from jima, tho, I'm throwing some custom into my X2 and am gonna roll with that for fall ball.

i use a mid low pocket for mesh then for traditional types i use high. i like low mid cause i can throw good fakes craddle with confidence and i love feeling the ball move around in my stick.

I play attack and have a not very deep pocket and low because i like the release o and hard mesh works for quick release becuase the ball just rolls of of it doesnt need to be broken in bc i have soft mesh and it like hugs the ball and slows it down

I use a high pocket because you can get really good fakes and you get both a quick release and a faster shot. This is because the ball is higher up on the stick so you get more leverage. The only downside is you can't cradle completely vertical one-handed so you have to go slightly diagonal

i go for the lower pocket cuz its easier to cradle in and shoot a bouncer. also if you make a pocket a little more shallow your shot will become harder and sometimes a little more accurate.

i use a cali connectuion so i keep my pocket in the middle for a quick release but way better control!!!!

most attackmen on my team use a low pocket because it is easier to one hand cradle

From my personal experience I used to love using the highest possible pocket that I could. Then I realized I just got too much whip with it. Then I went to a mid pocket which I still like and will use, but being a one handed cradling attackmen the low pocket would be my choice. I feel almost no ball rattle in my E3 since the pocket is so low it just sits there.

mid low for me...but you know...that spot..the one that feels just right for you...ya thats the one...string your pocket there...its all preference....dont play with something you aren't comfortable with...just make sure its legal...

ya i go with a high pocket to. Maybe its just b/c i play box and the head is pinched, but i find its much easier w/ a high pocket. You can get your shot off faster

Im currently really likeing the High/Mid high pocket. but i also use 6d so i like alot of hold. really it ends up just being more of a bag. but i love it.

its gonna be different for every person, thats why places like e-lacrosse cant tell you were attackmen like their pockets, cuz as you can see we all like different pockets with different mesh or customs, and shooters.

Really, in truth, Attackmen's or any position's pockets for that matter reflect the player not the position.

my pocket location/shooter set up is different on every stick but they throw the exact same...its pretty snazzy

but in preference i like a mid/high but can live with low/mid

Maybe I'm wrong, but a lot of people here are saying a high-pocket is less whippy and has a quicker release, but I disagree with that do to the fact that EVERY high pocket I have EVER used has had more whip that a low pocket and did not release as quick as a low pocket.

see i think u can string a high pocket with no whip in some cases

but yes...generally low pockets tend to have less whip

it all depends on shooter/sidewall setup

I roll with a mid/high pocket on my razer pro. It gives me a perfect combo of hold, whip, and control. On my AV8, i roll with a mid pocket. I wanted a high pocket on it but after about 10 failed attempts at stringing one in it, I just gave up. The damn head is too wide up top, even after I pinched it.

if you string the high pocket the right way you can have it have little to no whip

Well I'm not an attackmen, but the best attackmen on our team has a low pocket. He likes to one-handed cradle so a low pocket allows the ball to settle in without rigorous cradling. He can also really crank a shot and is a great dodger, so its not like low pockets have no hold.

in my mess around stick i have a mid to high pocket and i have a faster shot than most of my friends, i play goalie.
it would make sence to me to have and attack pocket high so that you get the fastest release out of it.
