i like the way the east coast players play, very tricky. like the powell bros. i think i have developed a west coast style of playing. i incorporate alot of different kinds of passes and shots into my game. this is both bad and good. mostly good though. lol

As much of a flame war as I know this will turn into, I have only four words for you all:

EAST COAST. RIGHT COAST.

Well, at this point in the history of lacrosse, it's hands down east coast. You cant deny the west is up to something, but there are more schools, more players, and better competition on the east coast. It's science...

East coast by far. The games been here forever, so more people play, causing better competition, which makes for better players. The west coast is catching up, but the east will still dominate for a few more years until it can be established better in the west.

its kinda like what's going on here in PA...the west isn't as good as the east, but there are a few d1 recruits coming out of the west this year, so it shows that the west is on its way...but for now...EAST COAST!

What are you talking about? Unless you mean Western Canada, which you could make a case for (Gaits), the best players have consistently come from the East Coast. It's not a personal bias, it's just a fact. Lacrosse has been played in the Eastern U.S. longer, therefore the best players, so far, have come from there.

Without a doubt. But I think this poll is more about US lacrosse in the traditonal Eastern hotbeds, or the new programs out West (East hands down). If you want to compare the talent in the US against that of Canada, just look at the World Games.

Yeah... the U.S. would still beat out Canada. That's only one out of like 24 (not sure about the exact number) that we've lost. But that's for a different thread...

Thius is the deal. until there are significant progrmas on the west coast, i nterms of coaches, deidcated collge programs, the east coast schools will continueto dominate...but not forever.

The wheather is phenomenal all the yway from Vancouver to San Diego.

Problem with the west cost schools, lack of coaches and lack of primary support from the California school system.

Way back in the day, like around the Jim Brown era, it was encoruaged to get football palyers to take up lax duringthe spring.

It can be done again out in California. :agree:

That's biased for sure. As for lacrosse as a whole, I think both the US and Canada are dead even. We own the box game, you guys own the field game. You guys switch hands & use the longpole better than us, and we can hit, take hits and can play a faster game than you guys.

Oh yeah, the East rules in terms of field lacrosse. It's been there forever.

Kid A makes a good point but definitely field lax is east coast look at all the top players that play D1 ball and where they came from its definitely east coast

but what exactly is a east coast and west coast style of play never actually heard that one before

Im not for certain so correct me if im wrong, but in canada the west seems to be more of a grittier game then the east. The west is like rough and tough (to a point) and the east is more prettier goals and plays. But some people would dissagree completly but thats just my oppinion
