ok so ive been trying to string a 6D traditional for a while and i do this with the leathers taped to the shaft. when im finished i go to loosen the leathers and i have all this space at the bottom. now ive tried sliding the knots down the leathers, but the leathers then become all funky and crooked. anyone have any hints tips or suggestions.

P.S i have tried the ball and knife

use a spool or round object as seen in one of the trad tut's

or just leave slack while your stringing

this is a problem for me too. if i leave slack when i string, won't the pocket become like messed up and real bumpy and etc because i'm leaving slack?

try 8d and cut the strings into 3 pieces. one 3 feet, and 2 6 feet. this will make it easier to use the ball/knife.

just string the middle channel like in camerons double interlocking trad with the ball and knife trick and then u can pick exactly how many diamonds u want

this is viewing the head from the back....the red being the crosslace...u start at the top right leaving lace on the right to finish the right side of the pocket..and u zig zag doing half diamonds on your way down to the bottom of the head...when u first start pull the leathers tight and then when u are far enough down u can loosen them to do the ball and knife trick

just make sure to keep the knots evenly spaced.

and DEFINITELY make sure to string about a centimeter to an inch past the throat of the stick when you string it with the leathers taped to the shaft.
