That would be a good fall ball list, but for the spring let's compress the list a bit. For as many complaints that I make about W PA, I will say that there are many superb athletes that can easily contribute on the Div 3 Level and quite a handful that can impact Div 2 or even the lower-ranked Ivy Schools after a red-shirt year... Lots of bright kids.

None !
Junior Long-pole play last year was pretty horrific from every team
The Div 1 South Teams had the best D units, but were very inconsistent on so many levels: footwork, positioning, slides, talking, moving the island, etc etc etc
Goalie
Heinricher-Central

That one defenseman from SV is only a junior he had a pretty good year last year.
Debarno is probably the best pole in the league (or one of them)

For the d-poles, what makes a standout?
Size, absolutely
Athleticism, definitely
Skills, yes
Loose ball vacuum, yes
Takeaways, yes
Shutdown ability, yes
For the standout defensemen, what were their stats? I'm interested to learn about the individuals. Mr Debarno is mentioned. What are his stats...
From a qualitative standpoint, my opinion is what it is. Don't get too offended because HS athletes only get better with age; And that's what I am going to watch for -- improvement.

Zac Boyt and Chip Young both from Mt. Lebanon are very solid and can push the momentum in any game.

He played in some of the 3RL games over the summer I don't know if you were there for them or not. He was #9 during the season, and was mainly our X attackman.
Both of them might be moving to middie this year though.

what do you all know about canon-mac players? Adam traynor is gonna tear it up this year on attack and noones gonna be able to take the ball away from dave baker on face-offs. Aaron french is a beast in the middle on defense and chris fontana is gonna be a helluva goalie this just like years past. look out cause they're comin.

I have to agree with Dragon Coach. There isn't really too many outstanding D-poles.
meestagoaliemon, recall to last year. Most people thought then that there werent many good d-poles and I think it turned out to be one of the best defensive classes ever. Cully, Gray, M. Johnson, Barkas, R. Snyder, Story, and Pianetti. Notice anyhting simalair? All seniors. I think defensmen really come into their own during their senior year, so I'd wait till the season to make a generlaization like that.
