Probably. Call the airline and ask them what to do.

If you put it in your bag and check it in, you should be fine, but call the airline first. Better safe then sorry.

If it is checked baggage (stuff that goes underneath) there should be no problem.
Definately not carry-on

tell him to cut the strings before he gets on the plane or bight threw them lol

Anyways u shouldn't have a problem bring a knife as long as it goes underneath the same way u can bring guns... at leats u used to be able to it might be diffrent though since 9/11

PROBABLY can't bring them on board? You can't even bring knitting needles and nail clippers onto a plane anymore... :laugh

All the time? You can bring pretty much anything, as long as it's not in your carry-on bag.

I think you have to get a certificate for it and notify the plane or something though (for the gun I mean).

But as far as other "dangerous items" go the airline can actually check your bag and discover items they will take out and such. I dont know if they will get mad at you though. I've had my bags searched twice already this year. They put a little notice in your bag telling you.

airlines are crazy if you ask me. If i was a suicide bomber, id just have a surgery and put a plastic bomb inside me. No matter what airlines do, terrorists are just crazy enough to find ways around it. I wouldnt worry about nail clippers, cause if no one on the plain will fight a man with nail clippers, well then your plane has issues

You probably cant bring it in carry-on. Just call the airline.

Nail clippers were one of those things banned in carry-ons post 9/11. Don't think they've changed that rule. Same goes for scissors. Shouldn't be a problem in your checked luggage, though.
Maybe you can use the plastic knife to cut strings once you get your meal.

Then he'd need a lighter...

You can not bring a gun on a bag even if it is checked in. That is just retarded. You might be able to bring a knife im not sure, but you definatly cant bring them onto the plane. Like someone said, you cant even bring on nail clippers.

quick story...wen I was on the airplane I had my lax stick with me and in the airport i was just waiting around so I was doing tricks with my ball in the middle of everything and people just stopped and started watching me. Im pretty good at tricks, best in the local couple of towns, i mean i have done almost every trick I've seen but I thought it was really cool to have all these people stop and start watching me. I was doing it for about a half hour or 45 minutes and I had up to about 12 people watching me at one time which is pretty good for an airport where most ppl have places to be.
