I might be moving to the Silver Springs MD area....can anyone tell me where the good HS programs are in that area?
Georgetown Prep-Rockville/North Bethesda, Landon-Bethesda, St. Albans-Washington D.C., Walt Whitman- Bethesda Maryland, Walter Johnson- North Bethesda. Prep, Landon and St. Albans are private the others are public

if your talking about public school, you may need to transfer somewhere in bethesda or chevy chase, the schools in Silver Spring have weak programs. Are you good enough/have the money to pay for a good private school? Gprep and Landon are obviously the best, but schools like Bullis,Good Counsel, and St. Albans (In D.C.) are also very good. If you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.

i think hes looking for schools a little closer, baltimore is an hour to an hour and a half away from silver spring, with light traffic. Thats a rediculous distance to go when the IAC is arguably just as good. But yes the MIAA is an amazing leage and you will get lots of looks if you play there.
Hour and half?! Which lane do you drive in lol?
laxn hit it pretty good. Theres enough good schools around here that you can make choices on things other than lax. "Silver Spring" is a big area, enough to give you a wide range, especially with the way a lot of schools arent exclusive to silver spring. Id choose a school on academics/location/etc over lax. It also depends on how good are you. Boys latin/prep and such are consistently nationally ranked, are you that good? Not trying to slight you, but its just that not many peopel are.

i wouldn't say that you have to choose between lax and academics in this area. For the most parts the academics in all schools are top notch, of course somme schools are better then others, and some are slightly sub par, but as long as you stay away from DC public schools (snickers) you should be fine.
And i was overexaggerating the distance to baltimore, im usually asleep in the back seat so it feels like a long time, but it's still a long way.
Yeah, but theres a big difference between writing Prep and WJ on your college apps. Going to schools like Prep and Boys Latin take you places the Montgomery County public school cant. Theres also a lot of crappy MCPS schools, then a lot really rich, white MCPS schools.

dont worry about it, watkins mill is a LEGIT team, i play with a guy that goes there on my fall ball team and he's sick.
edit: nevermind i just looked at how watkins mill did last year and they were destroyed by almost ever team, so i just its just that kid.
