try working on you're reaction time. then you'll be able to get over the ball faster before he clamps the ball.

You just practice facing off as much as you can. But honestly, jumps work well against hard clamps when you can't out clamp them, but the better clamp wins everytime. But just practice as much as you can.

have someone blow a whistle or record the whistle and play it over and over again and each time the whistle blows do the move as fast as you can. If you keep doing that then your reaction time will increase.

i don't buy the whole "jumps and punches beat clamp" thing.

in my opinion the best way to beat a good clamper is to simply clamp better than him.

i personally am a clamper. it's essentially all i do. i love it, and i'm good at it. and the way i got good at it is just do it over and over and over and over again. it's the only way to get good at anything.

Yeah definitly work on your reaction time, but if you do get a clamp on the ball, keep it clamped but turn your body to force the other player out of the way(if your bigger) and get yourself in fornt of the ball and just scoop it. it always helps me.

If you can execute it well then it should beat the clamp.

A rake beats a clamp

not neccasarilly(sp?)

an strong clamp or a down the line clamp beats the rake.

yeah, but paper beats a clamp and scissors beat paper so...

Anyways, clampers have a tendancy to lean forward, more so than when they're doing any other move. When you setup, before the whistle, move both hands together about halfway down/up your shaft. Squat down in a ready position like you're a football linebacker. On the whistle, pop forward and up and check the guy in the chest or shoulder. Make sure you're not checking him in the head, as that's illegal.

This will usually result in the middie on his butt with you upright. Scoop up the loose ball and fast break away my friend.

This is such an underutilized move now days, which I don't understand cause it's quite effective. It's good for atleast 2-3 faceoffs a game. After you've done it a few times the other guy will catch on and prepare himself for hits, which leaves the ball open for you to clamp/rake/laser/blaser/phaser/whatever. It works against big guys and little guys, as usually most high school faceoff guys are off balance or the improper position. If it's a big guy with good balance, you'll atleast tie him up and off the ball so your wingmen can come in and grab a ball. When you do this, have one of your wingmen line up on the midfield line and instruct him to come straight across incase of the just mentioned scenario.

Good luck!
