Well ive looked through alot of the threads about defense and such and often footwork comes up but i dont feel like i fully grasp the idea of what it means

is it body posistioning? footspeed? or plainly just how you move around?

footwork is how you work with your feet. It involves body positioning, foot speed, but it is also side stepping and shuffeling without touching your heels, shuffeling diagnally(sp*). pretty much anything you do in lax with your feet is footwork.

just remember playing defense starts with your feet

So is it like agility and stuff?
Are their any good ways to practice it?

i havent tried it myself, but a few people on the forum said jumping rope is a good way to get better footwork. (footwork is really any movement you use in lacrosse)
ex.--dodging to the cage, side stepping on defense with your guy while your checking him...its really just quickness
