how many of ya'll listen to country music? I was just wondering since everyone on this board talks about alternative, pop, rock, rap, and country doesn't ever come into the conversation. I personally love country. new country, i can't listen to the old stuff, beucase it just bothers me. if you want a taste of good country d/l the song "You'll think of me" - Keith Urban. it's sorta new on the radio stations right now, and i fell in love with it when i heard it for the first time.

I love country. It is one of the few radiostations that I can constantly listen to without hearing a song I hate. I love Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, Rascall Flats, Mongomery Gentry, Toby Keith, Alan Jackson, I love basically all country. I really like Tim McGraw's new song "Live Like You Were Dying". My favorite CD recently is Kenny Chesney's "When the Sun Goes Down". Its good to see some fellow country lovers, because I always get ragged on by my friends for liking it.

When I was a freshman/sophmore in HS I remember our bus driver to school was a hard core country listener and that's all we'd ever listen to on the bus.
I grew to like those "MAN I feel like a woman" and "Way down yonder in the chatahoochie" and "where I come from corn bread and chicken" songs... man brings back memories. My music collection is lacking country music right now...

What the heck is up with people who like rap thinking their inferior taste in "music" is better :omg. Rap takes no skill, all you need is some guy at the computer pressing a button for different sounds. Country music takes skill, rock takes skill. You need to be able to play guitar, have a great voice. Rap is just a guy with a mic to close to his mouth saying some gay crap about how he scored with 40 chicks last night.

well I wouldn't go ahead and diss rap right away either. Rap music has it's moments as well. It does take a lot of skill to rap and mix words with beats and all. And just because you dont use intstruments doesn't mean it's not music. The turntables I consider to be instruments anyways...

My personal favorites are Dixie Chicks and Lonestar. Then I have a ton of songs I'm in love that. I love "Who Wouldnt Want to Be Me" by Keith Urban at the moment 'cause I heard it twice on the radio today.

Technically I detest country music but I have discovered that
Johnny Cash is pretty awesome and some of that old Waylon Jennings and WiIllie Nelson stuff is pretty awesome if your are in the mood.
I friend of mine recently sent be a bunch of burned CD's - Cash, Nelson and Jennings live ( a girl who is actually a pretty sophisticated, hot babe, photography student at Tisch School for the arts at NYU.) So people all all walks seem to get into the Man in Black and a few of his contemporaries.
If nothing else: Waylon Jennings and Nelson live singing Good Hearted Women, Nelson and Cash or Nelson and Jennings" On the Road Again" - live, Nelson "Always on my Mind" and a must Johnny Cash" Folsom Prison Blues" and Ring of Fire .and " I walk the Line"
Waylon Good Hearted Women...or sung live with Willie Nelson the same.
Otherwise country pop -stinks.
I Fell Into A Burning Ring Of Fire
I Went Down, Down, Down
And The Flames Went Higher
And It Burns, Burns, Burns
The Ring Of Fire

Enjoi , where ya been I have not seen you online recently?
Funny you know who I am talking about. LOL
She is not into Country Music more like she is into good artistically sound music, and musicians in general. I think NYU has perverted her tastes in some way. Considering she used to listen solely to punk or Indie music off a label called " wickedwitch". Weird for a lover of Prince, Ramones and the Sex Pistols.
:omg
I am growing quite fond of the Man in Black myself. Who figured.

sorry but i really do think rap takes more skill than anything...
TRUE! some rap is just gay...for example-lil jon and ying yang twins...
but if you listen to some decent rap and listen to the lyrics you will see that it takes SOOO much skill to think of the **** they say.....

Wow, your radiostation must be a little out to have played that twice in one day. It a pretty old song, but still a great one. Im seeing Kenny Chesney, and Tim McGraw this summer. If you dont like country, I dont know what to say to you, because it is America's Music and if you dont like America's Music then thats just not patriotic, and that makes you a terrorist. Im kidding, a lot of people dont like it and its all opinion.

Has anyone heard John Michael Montgomery's new song Letters from Home? That song makes me think about my cousin fighting in Iraq. Country music stars are the only people with enough common decency to not have 20 body guards. Country is all-american music. If you dont like country just a little bit you arent all too patriotic.
I hold it up and show my buddies like we aint scared and our boots aint muddy.
And they all laugh cause she calls me honey.
But they take it hard, cause I dont read the good parts.
I fold it up and put it in my shirt.
Pick up my gun and get back to work.
And it keeps me driving on, waiting on letters from home.

good lord, i just got home from the mongomery gentry & dierks bentley concert. wow, those guys put on such a great live show. montgomery gentry has one of the highest energy shows i've been to in a long time (that includes korn, pm5k, papa roach, blink 182 who is horrible live and should be shot). all in all a great show. they are all better guitar players than i originally thought, and all just sounded really crisp live. major props
