Fighting Clams

My friend who is a freshman, just got invited to tryout for the fighting clams on 9-24-06. He said something in the letter said something about there being 3 teams, also do you know if he is the first freshman to ever asked to tryout?

No, I don't think everyone did. He's definetly not the first freshman though. I'm a freshman, and I got a e-mail from Justin (personalized, so it wasn't a mass mailing)
asking me to try out. But I have previous commitments w/ Team Central, so I'm not going to.

You aren't special if you're invited to clam camp. The letter IS sent to everyone. I have a kid who works at TopGun verifying this.

Did your friend get a letter, or an e-mail? Either way, getting asked to tryout mean next to nothing.

I think the letter said that they are selecting guys from the clam camp and then putting teams in some college recruiting showcase. no offense to a freshman but why would the clams bring a freshman to that. i really think the invite was for clam camp which is really just a lot of scrimmaging for a lot of money.

there was a kid on my team at Notre Dame camp, for one game, the goalie who played for them, just thought id let everyone know, he was really really friggin good too, supposedly hes getting lots of looks from some D1 schools and hes a soph

im pretty sure he didnt play on varsity tho, there starter was very underated and went to williams. will probably play.

BC high's starter was andy harrison and he went to Amherst College not Williams.

Not everyone who plays topgun idoor got emails, you had to get chosen by Justin Walker. However some kids went to tryouts anyways.

it's an invitational thing, but you dont need an invitation to try out. you can just go and try out. if you talk to the organizer they will start to look at you more closely
