Hey all, just thought id give everyone a quick update of whats happening with Tassie Lax.
We have a website created by a master computer technichan up and running. Looks pretty good and still with heaps more content to come. Check us out at www.taslacrosse.org
We are also hosting the NSW senior mens team for a few games over the weekend of the 7th and 8th of October. All games are being played on world class wet astro turf and should be pretty awesome. The NSW team is made up of a lot of touring USA and English uni students, however the Tassie team is entirely made up of Tassie born and bred lads. Should be an awesome weekend with plently of lax and lager all round. If this one goes well we will look at hosting another tourny later on next year with more teams. Will keep you updated on how the Mighty Tassie Titans go and try for some photos too.

Would love to participate in the under 15 tournament if it was hosted in Tasmania. I can imagen it would be a great week.

This could be possible in about 4-5 years away if we get our recruiting strategy happening correctly (thus we could host it with our own team). at the moment we are still organising at our committee meetings about how we are going about it.
Also we could have our own "paradise" tournament in the winter...Parad-ice

Coming over from Sydney with the NSW team & looking forward to it. Btw, are there any teams from Vic coming too?

nah unfortunately they all pulled out. Hopefully next year we can get a few other clubs down but will be good for this year just to have two teams. Going to be good fun, hows the NSW team looking?

I have only played with the guys a couple of times (& only box) so not sure how what I have seen will translate to field, but we have some players with good stick skills...not sure about our fitness though.

Hey Dunga, any word on whether Tas will have a team in the VLA next year?

Well i hope so, if the VLA is still willing to help support us financially and we can organise some sporting grants and or sponsorship i would say it would be pretty likely. The only thing is if we can get 15 or so guys to be able to commit to an interstate trip every second or third week. Actually spoke with the dude who we are hiring the hockey turf off and he mentioned if it was a goer next year we could get the turf for some night games if teams were to travel down here-would be pretty awesome. Im keen as mustard tho. Go Titans.

just by getting the financial help will take away half the problem with getting people to commit

The mighty tassie titans beat the nsw lads last night 16-11 in front of a large crowd at the tas hockey centre in Hobart. Was an awesome game and a fun weekend. Thanks heaps to the NSW fellas for coming down-hoping to run something similar next year again with possibly another couple of teams involved. Would be good if the tassie guys could get up to NSW for some box too.

Well done Titans. Sounds like Tassie lax is in a period of growth. Would love to play in a tournament down in Tassie.
You Tassie guys should get your box team organised. I believe that there will be a National Championships held in January next year. You might also want to consider trying out for the National team to go to the World Indoor Lacrosse Championships next year in Canada.

Maybe, maybe not. If you guys are good enough to beat NSW in field, then you are good enough to play box with all of the states. Give it a go. It's one of th few ways to get better. That and you get to travel to other parts of our great country. (more importantly it gives me another reason to come down to Tassie).

we were looking at coming to the national box last year before it was cancelled but rego costs were huge if i remember correctly. If we brought our best 10-12 players i reckon we would go ok-would be a great experience.

im from eltham and we were going to come down the other weekend as part of our endof season trip. you should try and organise with a club to get billited with so it cuts costs. the VLA are s hit so make sure u push them hard.
