Well.....for mine some years ago, I designed a maze with different stories and put various insects in to see which ones succesfully made it out the quickest, if at all....

I kind of think your original idea would be interesting to see the results, I assume you were going to do a survey type thing.....However I can see why it was declined. Personally, I do find that race affects sex appeal, but not 100%. It'd certainly be an interesting survey, but perhaps flawed because I think most people would say their own race is the most attractive.....

Just watch a show called Mythbusters, and they'll give you loads of ideas to try. Its also quite entertaining as well.

i need science fair ideas. i was gonna do does race affect sex appeal and my teacher said it was inappropriate. i can't think of anything. anyone wanna help me?That's a social science experiment. If you're doing the typical kind of school science fair I'm thinking of, best to stick to something related to hard sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics, etc). Try to keep your experiment relatively simple. Review the scientific method. The best experiments are the ones that others can reliably recreate & reproduce the same results. In general, quantitative data is preferable to qualitative data.

If all else fails, make a volcano. Those always go over well. I would even suggest making a volcano filled w/ soda pop inside it. When it comes time to demo, throw a pack of Mentos in there. Make sure you teacher is standing really close to it.

omfg god i should. i hate her. first the test now this. well the test was my fault i guess but it was super hard and i studied hard. anyway, i wanted to do a social science experiment. i like the maze idea its pretty cool actually. can you give me some more details on how you did it

yeah make sure it is diet coke and mint mentos. those two get the best results.

for my science experiment i am just finding wheter iron loving bacteria, saltwater, or water cause the most rust in 4 days. simple but effective. :rolling:

last year i did one on which fruits cause bannanas to ripen the fastest. you measure the ripeness by finding the % of the surface area that is brown. i think that pears were the best, it has something to do with a gas fruits release when ripening that helps ripen other fruits.

Dude you have no clue as to the trove of ideas that a simple internet search will give you!!! MAN THERE IS THOUSANDS OF AWESOME ONES!!! I think the last one i did was purely physics based...rolling a marble down a multi textured ramp (basically a ramp then alternating the surfaces upon it...carpet, wet towel, paper, foil etc) to establish a link between friction and subsequent distance traveled, speed (or forward velocity) and momentum. It's quite simple really yet is able to incorporate many scientific principles.

well my problem is, i have to make a hypothesis and try to prove it. that's why most of these ideas doesn't help me.

ie. if something, then something and i have to prove it

both of my projects are along those guidlines. i have like a 70 page packet full of fricken' guidelines. trust me its golden.

go with the old school paper volcano
