About the CD, even if it isn't good, its the thought that counts, especially in a situation like this. A framed picture of you and her should be another good gift.

when you get to cleveland, and want cheesy, just go w/ the classic blasting the peter gabriel "in your eyes" on your old school boombox that you've raised above your head. that would be kindof money. Or you can just play your cd.

No offense or anything, but if you gave your ball idea to a girl for a VDay gift and you aren't dating, she might be alittle freaked out by it.

I'll let you in on a little trick........go out and buy a small bag of hersey kisses. Take out the little paper things. Make your own paper things with sweet things on them. IE- I love you....I cant stop thinking about you.....ect. place them back in the wrapping. This is a golden idea.

you guys are horrible. with the sandwich and the condoms..

the hershey kisses thing was kinda nifty. So is the star thing, there are tons of really nice caring thoughtfull things you could do. What does she like? use things she likes...

uh make her a card? make her dinner? take her out to like a drive in movie and make a big show of like packing a meal cooked by you into the car to eat at it...anything dude, just show her how much you care.

Long distance relationships rarelly work when you are young, just tell her you wish she was closer.

Get her something with a bit more thought into it than a CD, card, something you got out of a movie, or even something we suggest. It simply isn't very thoughtful and it won't mean much to her beyond a "thank you". Make it personal in regards to your relationship. It will be even more effective for her, since it will signify that your relationship is very personal and palpable, despite the obvious long distance issues.

Let me give you an example:

Before I was in a relationship with my girlfriend, she was in my basement, and was rumaging through an old box of kiddie books that my were either read by my siblings or me growing up. She found this little book called "My Little Locket", which was a kiddie book that my sister got years ago. The book was unopened, and it had a fake plastic locket inside it. She found it adorable and I let her take the book and the locket. She then decided to wear the locket during our relationship, until the cheap plastic was so tarnished that it wasnt even worth wearing. And then for her birthday, I bought her a real 22k gold expensive locket, nearly identical to the fake locket but well...real. I then left her a sappy note inside the jewelry box it came with, saying how this locket won't die like the other one, just like our relationship. And of course, she absolutely died over it.

Did it need to be that expensive? Nope. The personal effect was the valuable part of it. Try to think of something like that.

With the Title list for the songs on the CD, write a little note about each one and why you put it.

And a CD is much more masculine? A 10 minute creation of cheesey love songs from Limewire?

You guys gotta work on your game if you think you're too good to take a girl out to dinner or make her feel appreciated.

Yeah dude well I know what you're talking about with the long distance thing. My girlfriend is two hours away from me. Me living towards the north of jersey and her living towards the south. It really sucks because you barely get the chance to hang out with her. I also don't get my liscense till school gets out in June. Since my parents won't drive me down there for me to stay down there its gonna really suck.

well, since this thread was brought back up i might as well tell you how it went. she love the cd. i wrote out what each song meant and why it was on there...she loved it. she also loves to steal my lax shirts and hoodies, which she wears to bed. so i gave her a couple of those. what i did was, i wrapped the gifts in a coat that i brought because i knew it would get cold later in the evening. it did, and i gave her my coat and she went to put it on in the car and the gifts fell right in her lap...perfect (i also told her i left the presents at home haha so even more surprise). long story short, it was the best weekend i think ive ever spent with her...even though we are so far apart, we became a lot closer. it was a little awkward at first because we hadnt seen each other in awhile, but we ended up falling asleep on my couch together one night. and she came over one morning early and crawled into bed with me. all in all a good time.

what part the kid asked for sappy ideas that the girl would like, you seriously mean to tell me that you cant think of sappy ideas that you know a girl would like, I didn't say i did any of those. any who this is off topic.
