View Full Version : Ways to make money

Ok guys, heres the deal, I am going to be in desperate need of money this year for various things. I had been planning on getting a job, but after just having a talk with my parents, it just wouldn't work. I physically would not have time to put in enough hours to make it worth-while. I am only 16, will be 17 in Feb, so that limits me from stuff too. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could somehow have a steady flow of money come in.

Thanks.

Sell your soul, its not like you use it....haha....anyways...Ive been wondering the same thing too, its just not worth it to put in the amount of hours that we could work because pay is so little.

I live in NY.

I was thinking some kind of little business on ebay, or maybe going to sam's club and buying boxes of candy and selling it.

the olny problem with that is that if you dont sell it all then you end up losing money ebay would be the best way to go how much do you need to sell and dont sell here the prices are to low ebay pays more

Sorry to change the subject, but is there a thread about the jobs everybody here has? I searched and had no luck at all.

EDIT: And mowing lawns works great. My friend has eight accounts and makes $500 a month.

Exactly what I do. I am 14 and make over $1000 a month. I sell stuff for people on ebay and take a commision. Add's Up after a while.

Not to hijack but does anyone alse notice that FLD keeps changing his avatars to these men. I find it quite humorous. And hooligans avatar wow. But i mean look at FLDS avatar now.

I fix computers...if you know a decent amount start a repiar business, SOMEONE ALWAYS needs a comp. fixed. Plus people will pay ludacris amounts of money for the simplest things.

P.S. That man in FLD's avatar is Henry Rollins, and I think Hooly just picks the funniest picture that he finds and adds it as his.

Babysitting pays well and it's extremely easy, assuming you can find people that need babysitters. Or you could..

What I do in my spare time, and during lacrosse season is I umpire baseball. Games take about 2 hours, and I get 25$ for doing home plate, and 23$ for doing base. Both are very easy, and I do about 2 games a week during the spring. The little league baseball season lasts for about 8-10 weeks, so that adds up after a while. It brings in the cash flow to go out and do what I want when I'm not playing lacrosse.
Also, if you move up in leagues, the games are about 60$, but I do not have enough time because they only play on weekday nights, and that is when I have lax.

String lax sticks for people. Charge them 5$ for stringing and like 7$ for supplies. I have dont this and strung atleast 50 sticks for people. I have made some good revenue off of that.

Also, my neighbor (last year) was in a motorcycle accident, so I mowed his lawn every saturday for about 30$ or so, and that added up to a lot over the few months before winter.
Also, sell old DVDs and CDs that you do no use anymore. They can go for some nice cash from some of your friends.
With your parents, volunteer to take the bottles and/or cans back, and keep the money from them. Its only about 10-15$ but it will add up after about a month.

On another note, that ebay idea sounds very appealing, and I think you should definitely try it out.

Depends on where you live... If you live in a place where you get 8 inch snowfalls at least once a month you could easily make $200 shoveling driveways in a day.

Wash windows. Your neighbors will be delighted to pay someone else to do it for them. No brain power whatsoever is required. Say, that reminds me....

haha me and my frends dye and string heads...and we sell crackk..lol
For some reason I don't think he is kidding.

Since you live in New York and lawn mowing is coming to an end, try shoveling/snowblowing.

i mow lawns and the only time of year you dont make money is winter, and at that time of year you can shovel driveways. i earned 1200 dollars this summer just from mowing 3 lawns a week, sometimes even less than that.

Stringing.
Babysitting.
Mowing Lawn/Shouveling snow/Racking leaves.
odd Jobs around other people's houses for them.
Garage Sale.
Cut back on Lunch money.
Instead of spending 3 bucks a day try packing lunch or spending 1 or two dollars.

Good Luck on the money hunt.

I don't know how old you are or how good/knowledgeable you are but put up posters/advertise private lessons or clinics for younger kids. Talk to their parents and run hour clinics and work on fundementals and team play if you get enough kids

ask your parents to make an paypals account, there is a website where you can search websites for money, but its only 2 cents per search and only 40 times is allowed a day. but when you have enough, you can buy these accounts that allow you to get double the cash and that adds up eventually...i tried it and got"rejected" because i searched too many too fast, and i had like $40 too...dumb isnt it

I do those free stuff sites that offer iPods, TVs, etc. I usually spend $20 or so to complete the offers required for the site, and get an item worth a few hundred bucks. Yeah, it might take a few weeks to actually receive the item, but it's not bad for a few hours of work.
