What are some good concerts that you've gone to. Recently, I went and saw Brand New, New Found Glory, and Fall out Boy. All three shows were great. They were all at this smaller concert hall in the town near me which is great because I prefer smaller venues theyre just more fun to be in a small place and have the band be like right in front of you and then like the opening band just walkes around in the crowd. At the fall out boy concert I was talking with the bass player for Punchline and the sax player for Less than Jake cuz they were both just hanging out in the crowd.

Missed Ben Harper. I was going to try to go to NY and see him when he was on Carson Daley but in the middle of midterms and couldn't.

Quite a few smaller bands that have played throughout Ohio during the school year at schools such at U of O, Miami U and Ohio U.

i saw Our Lady Peace at a small club next to my school...it was amazing - the lead singer climbed to the balcony and just fell backwards into the crowd who caught him. He was over 20 feet in the air. Just awesome.

yeah, raine maida is nuts, ain't he, shifty? that's where i got my name from. i saw him about 10 rows back, that's rows of people, very hard to get close to the stage, at memorial auditorium in Burlington. then, i saw radiohead, where i nearly cried because their opening song was so powerful, at USANA in Utah. i might see the cure with interpol. i'd go just to see interpol, actually. and i also will probably see Dave Matthews with my brother. i excited. i love concerts.

both i find are really good. the cure is just a great band. everyone who thinks they know a lick about music should have a cure cd. they put on a good show, its a mellow show, like the music, but good nonetheless.

interpol is very good. i didnt know much about them when i went, but i really enjoyed the show. like i said earlier, i practically live at the music hall in my town. i just go to any show possible. so i heard the cure and interpol were stopping by, and i decided to check it out. if you like radiohead, which you do, interpol should spark you interest. it almost reminds me of if radiohead and pink floyd got together and had loads of sex. a very talented band.

I am a college student and can only afford to go to cheap concerts given on various campuses. I am not much of a music person overall.
I have seen Green Day in the past and they are really good in concert.

i saw green day and blink, with saves the day two years ago. blink is awful in concert, green day was amazing. im not sure why saves the day opened, i know that jimmy eat world was supposed to, but ended up touring on their own, but i dunno why they replaced them with STD. hfstival was good, new found glory was actually pretty bad, i was kinda pissed. i saw carbon leaf at a small club at college, as well as punchline/catch 22. both of those shows were great. i saw sugarcult/simple plan/mxpx at the 9:30 club. not much of a simple plan fan, but theyre pretty good live. sugarcult was great, as was mxpx. i kinda wanna see that dasboard concert, but more just to see the get up kids. i love them. i dont wanna spend like $40 though, cause its at nissan, and tickets are never less than liek $35 there. ill definitely go to warped again, and i was thinking about going to see lost prophets in july

Dan

so, since mark closed the other thread, give credit to me for thinking you weren't dead first, okay? and anybody who has the chance to see our lady peace, especially indoors, raine maida, their lead singer, is nuts. go see it if you can. killer show.

Oh, yeah, I've seen OLP twice now and both times it was been ridiculous. apparently they ate at an Applbees right next to my college last year and I missed them by about 10 minutes. This really hot chick who went to my school is the new guitar players neighbour, but they havent come back around the northeast since they released Gravity. I love OLP, man. I need to get their DVD, but its like 40 dollars. Americans - go buy OLP right now. Good music comes from Canada and the UK.

bpjoyce10
06-16-2004, 01:58 PM
yeah ive been listening to OLP for i guess about 9 years now. i think i saw them at hfs one time, but i was really young and didnt care who was there at the time

Dan
06-16-2004, 02:26 PM
too true. i mean, zeppelin, radiohead, the beatles, elbow, and so many more killer UK bands. i don't know too many canadian bands, though. and OLP is releasing a new cd, i think. oh. wow. i'd love to see them again. and i would have bought my brother a ticket, but he was outside and i was inside and it was loud. too bad.

as some of you know, this past two weeks i was in Italy... well for those of you who care, in ancient romr most of the big chariot races were held in a huge area called the circus maximus that could hold 250,000 people in its hayday.... while i was in rome, i noticed posters for a concert in the circus (something never done before) that featured sting.. so anyways i thought it would be cool to go and i went expecting modest turnout.... i arrived miway through the first warm up bands set (a pretty good italian band) and found a spot about 100 yards away from the stage because everything before that was already packed.. by the end of the concert (which was sweet, sting kicks major ace) the entire circus was standing room only on the floor and sitting room on the hills (which wwere still realy crowded) this was by far the coolest concert EVER that i have been to, easily beating out Incubus, DMB and all the other concerts i have ever been to

If any of you do get a chance to go to Warped, please participate in the wall of death. It works like this:

__________Stage___________
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
ok so you have your stage and the &'s and @'s are people

_________Stage____________

&&&&&&&&& @@@@@@@@@
&&&&&&&&& @@@@@@@@@
the crowd splits up in to 2 sides, faces each other, and you pick and point at the unlucky kid your going for. Then on the songs breakdown, you run at each other braveheart style, killing your sworn enemy.

suicide machines did it last year. it was the best thing i have ever done in my live. my 6'2" 156 lbs ruined some kids day.

Every year our crappy little town holds a festival and gets whatever bands they can to come in. We have had April Wine, a bunch of country and Simple Plan.
Kingston also gets a bunch of bands in. I think Finger Eleven play or is going to play. The only band I've seen recently was Alexisonfire and it was a great show. A lot of energy, they played stuff from the album that was coming out a few weeks after. After the show we went to cheap night down town. Good times!

I saw PM5K last year around this time; with RA and Shinedown, not a bad concert to small of a place but I got over it. In April I saw HIM with Kill Hannah and Eighteen Visions which was an amazing concert..

Our town also does this huge concert every year put on by our local radio station and they invite a few singned bands but the large amount is home grown: Lacuna Coil, Shinedown, Tantric, Dropbox, Sleepwalk.... The only decent bands out of the eighteen they had there, it was also free to get in...
