Im really having trouble with making cuts..

I play midfield and when i make a cut, non of the midi's rotate so i pretty much have to backtrack to my previous position.. thats one of the problems.. another problem is the location of the cuts.. my teamates say the midi's are cutting to tight.. are there any videos that are good example of a good solid cut?

sorry if this is hard to understand..

it all depends on your offensive setup. But mostly when you see an attackman with the ball, backcut your man going towards the crease for the quickstick. If you don't get the pass, cycle back out towards the sideline and up to your original position. [If your teammates don't rotate, like you said].

Just keep in mind that a middie who never stops moving is EXTREMELY annoying and tought to defend. Keep those feet working and move towards the ball.

talk to your middies also get them rotating. that shouldnt continue yall should get use to playing with each other and when one man cuts make the rotations to get open and even be able to pull double cuts, give and goes, and picks. this will help open up the defense and allow the offense to get more shots off.

ive been studying alot of college videos on e-lacrosse.com and its really hard to find the cuts.. i haven't seen any prime examples of any yet..

any one want to refer me to some video archives or anything that will give me a better idea as to what a good cut looks like?

A good cut comes from opposite the ball so you're nearly running at the ball carrier, this makes his pass easier, your catch easier and puts you in a better position to score.

As for your middies not moving, theres not much I can think of you doing except drilling it into them. Communication is an important part of offense as well as D, so dont be afraid to tell (in my case shout) the middies to their proper places.

What our coaches always tell us to do is, right after you pass, cut to the net. But as a lot of people said, always move around off ball, cut to the net if the ball is coming down the field, especially if an attackman needs to give a quick pass, and it just creates mass chaos and confusion for the opposing team if they are not paying attention.
